This is a defective cartridge, and needs to be returned to where you purchased it from. If you haven't got the bill, you just waisted your money. This is the second time this has happened to me. Once with a lexmark x83 and now with Lexmark X3350.This is suppose to be a new cartridge from a Lexmark brand box. I purchase the super saver package which includes 2 black and 1 color. No ! I don't have the receipt I purchased this in December /07. I removed the cartridges turned off the printer, unplugged the printer, let it sit for 10 minutes. Plugged the printer back in reinstalled the cartridges turned on the printer and the same message appeared.

cartridge error 1203
Error 1203 on a Lexmark is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would suggest you to try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
If that doesn't work just call up their support number and check for replacement..
