Red picture tube needs screen voltage adjust. Open fornt or back of TV and look for a black square looking box with adjustment knobs. Look for red screen adj and slowly turn rt or lft until lines just disappear. If screen goes too bright tv will shut down, just turn back on again and retry

You have a completely different problem. The screen voltage for the blue picture tube is slightly too high on your set. This will put fine lines in the background of the picture, called retrace lines. This is very common and easy to correct. Remove the front speaker cover and the access panel behind it. Look inside and you will see a black box with six controls, each control having a little white glue on it. This is the Focus/Screen block. Three controls are labeled Focus and three are labeled Screen. The screen control in the center is for green but I am not sure if the screen control on the left or right is for blue for your model. With the TV on, set it to VIDEO 1 but do not connect anything to the VIDEO 1 jacks. This will produce a pure dark picture, showing any faint lines in the background. Choose one of the screen controls and increase (turn clockwise) it slightly. If the blue lines do not get brighter it means you are turning the red screen control, so put it back where it was and choose the other screen control. When you find the blue screen control, decrease (turn counter-clockwise) it until just when the blue lines are gone. If you want you can check that the red and green screen controls are set to just below the point where their faint lines are visible. When done, replace the panels and your picture will be back to perfect.

MikeNJ1964 was exactly right! I have a Sony KP-65WV600 that had horizontal green lines that showed when the picture was darker. I had to remove 3 screws on the right and left side of the tv holding in the speakers...carefully pop out the middle panel from the clips holding it in....remove 4 screws from the cardboard in the middle and remove the cardboard. I then saw the six screws. The adjustment screws were the three below. I turned the middle screw until the lines dissapeared. I tried the left screw and blue lines appeared which I then adjusted away.
THANKS a bunch. SAVED me money!!!

Dark screen red arched lines

turn down the red screen control slightly the box is located behind the grille 6 knobs on it look carefully for the screen making on it for red do not adjust any other control best done in a dark room with no source in a video input if the tv will not auto align you have the control backed off to far

Red Bowed Lines / Red Hue

I tried the solution that was posted for this problem and it worked!
Just remove the Low front panel by removing the two bottom screws that are covered by two screw covers, then remove the second panel (black) by removing the 4 screws then you'll notice a module with 6 adjustment knobs, get a small screw driver, and with the t.v. on, being carefull , and with somebody accross the room looking at the screen begin with the lower left knob and turn left very slowly and ask the person across the room to let you know if the screen is better or not, after this I had to adjust the green as well so, I adjusted the next knob over to the left. Do this adjustment carefully and try to remenber the original position of the knobs in case you have to go back.f
Good Luck,
Californian.

Blue and red arched lines on screen when background dark

Sounds like you are describing retrace lines that could indicate that your CRTs or something in the drive circuits are bad.. Check the resistors on the CRT sockets to see if they are in tolerance. If they are try turning the red and blue screen adjustments down just a little this should take the lines away. You will however be needing service in the not to far future. Turning the screens down should help if the resistors check out. Let me know if you need anything further.

White arched lines appearing on dark/black screens.

it sounds like you are seeing the vertical retrace for all three colors together (white). Its possible that all three screen adjustments (red, green, blue) are off, but I suspect a problem with the screen power supply.
there is also a recall on this set
