IPhone bottom edge only allows slide functions.

IPhone bottom edge of touch screen doesn't accept taps, however it does let me use slide functions.

Does anyone know what I can do to alleviate the issue?

(For restore issues) When hard resetting the iphone unit, sometimes the 2 button reset will not work to force the restore mode. In this situation you should hold the 2 buttons until the display turns off. Then hold the HOME button and while holding it in, plug in the USB cable (powered- ie: plugged into AC adapter or computer USB port). This will power on the phone and bring up restore mode in itunes. iTunes will produce a message which says: "iTunes has detected an iphone in restore mode" -your friendly neighborhood MacGenius from the Apple Store

Try a hard reset on the iphone. Hold don both the sleep/wake button at the top right and your home button at the same time. Continue to hold both buttons for about 20-30 seconds (do not slide to power off) until you see a white apple appear. Let go once you see the apple log appear, wait for phone to power cycle back on. If that doesn't work, try a restore. You must connect to itunes, choose restore as new. If it doesn't work after that, you'll need to get a replacement.

Save for alarm on iPhone 5c not working

No need to save the alarm. When you select "Alarm" in the Clock app ... you add and Alarm by touching the + sign, enter a time you want to Alarm to go off ... the first time the "slider" that turns the Alarm On/Off will be green - in the on position. When the Alarm goes off you turn if off by sliding the windows from left to right. The alarm will still be saved in your list of alarms ... when you want to add another Alarm, just touch the + sign again. If you want to activate a previously added Alarm, just slide the button to the right to On ...

How do I turn speaker phone

    • 1 Press the green "Phone" key on the main screen of your iPhone. This key has a silhouette of a traditional hand receiver and is located on the bottom part of the screen.
    • 2 Begin to use your speakerphone by making a call or accepting a call from other participants. You can make a call by going to your "Contacts" list or activating the keyboard and dialing a number. Incoming phone calls can be accepted by pressing the "Accept" key underneath the caller ID.
    • 3 Activate the "Speaker" function on your iPhone when you are ready to use your speakerphone. This button is located above the caller's information and allows you to switch on and off with one tap of your finger.
    • 4 Put participants on hold while you use your iPhone speakerphone. There is a "Hold" key at the bottom of the calling screen that lets you speak to people without bringing callers into the conversation.
    • 5 Access your contact information over the Internet while you use your speakerphone. You can reach the main page of your iPhone by pressing the "Home" button if you are on hold. The iPhone does not allow you to play music or use other audio options while on hold because you are still on the phone.
    • 6 Adjust the volume level before you begin a conference using your speakerphone. There are volume buttons on the side of the iPhone that provide detailed control over speaker sound levels.
    • 7 Mute the speakerphone if you must leave your office or take a break from a conversation. The "Mute" key is available on the call screen and instantly cuts off your microphone and the speaker.
    • 8 Add new contacts to your iPhone that you have called on your speakerphone. You can go back to your "Recent Calls" list or the keyboard to find numbers to add to your "Contacts" list.

I forgot my iPhone Passcode. What can I do to unlock it?

iPhone setting:*
- Auto-Lock: 1 Minute;*
- Passcode Lock: On, require passcode immediately, after 15 min or 4 hours etc;*
- Network: Turn 3G Off

Scenario 1: Home screen is active with screen on*
1. Press power button for seconds until asked to '"slide to power off"
2. Slide to power off
3. press power button to turn on iPhone
4.*When asked to enter passcode, touch the "Cancel" key, then slide to unlock
5. bypassed passcode

Scenario 2:*
1. On the screen of being asked to enter passcode, press power button for seconds until asked to '"slide to power off"
2.*Slide to power off
3. press power button to turn on iPhone
4.*When asked to enter passcode, DO NOT touch any key on the screen, press power button for seconds until asked to '"slide to power off"
5. Slide to power off
6. press power button to turn on iPhone
7.*When asked to enter passcode, touch the "Cancel" key on the right bottom corner, then slide to unlock
8. bypassed passcode

Notes:
1. When Network setting changes to Enable 3G: ON, "3G" signal shows up, passcode CANNOT be passed through
Go to a underground parking lot or a lift where 3G signal is weak, when 3G signal switches to "E" (Edge), passcode CAN be passed through following above steps
2. When no 3G or Edge signal, above steps don't work

Conclusion:
Seems passcode security is related to network status
Possible security hole under Edge

Iphone dropped in a pool help. Put it in rice for a week and it will turn on but will not allow me to slide it to unlock

Ok. What let you slide content and do so many things through touching the screen of your phone is the "capacitive touch screen" embeded on the phone itself has shorted out when it felt in the water (bear in mind that it functions through electricity that continously runs through it. You should contact somebod who knows how to replace it. Good luck

Reset the phone or use iTunes to restore the phone to the factory defaults. If that doesn’t work you will need to take the phone by the Apple store and have them check it out. The touch screen component of the iPhone is like a second screen under the display; it can break and you can still have a perfectly clear picture but no touch response.

Palm TX: Digitizer problems - can't use all functions; i.e.all those on bottom row of screen. Soft reset and touch-screen alinement exercise doesn't seem to work.

I developed the same problem after owning my TX for about a year and a half. I found an acceptable solution by experimenting with the digitizer. Instead of tapping the very center of the bullseye, I tapped off center until I found an acceptable setting where accessing functions anywhere on the screen would work for me.
