Question about Panasonic KX-TG5621 Phone

Volume changes on my Panasonic KX-TG5621

We have two Panasonic cordless phone setups. A dual phone in the house and a single one in the shop. The volume on the one in the house is inconsistent. At times it sounds normal and then it may drop to the point where the volume is so low the person on the other end is inaudible. Some times it works and some times it doesn't. I've swapped the phones between the house and shop. Out there I've had no problems. Other than a 400 MHz remote for the TV we have no other wireless devices in the house (that I know of). We do have a computer network, but it is a hard wired CAT5e gigabit network. To me it appears as if there's an interfering signal, but I haven't been able to find one.

I'm having the same problem. Unless I am standing next to the base, it's like the call gets dropped - no sound. I thought the 5.8 GHZ was supposed to prevent such problems.

I've got the same problem when I talk the ear piece volume drops. I looked in the manual and tried the sound boost and voice enhance but neither improved the problem. I did not have this problem when the unit was new. KXTG5623 model.

I have the same problem with the Panasonic kx-tg5621. It is intermittant, but constant. Using the speaker phone option sometime helps a little, but it too is inadequate. I'll probably try to return it for a different brand.

I am having the same problem - the volume of the person I am speaking to goes in and out. I have tried adjusting the audio volume key but it doesn't help. What is the problem and what recourse do I have? My model # is kx-tg5623

Nice to know I'm not alone. Kinda... My phone is having the same exact problem described here. This Panasonic POS phone should be avoided since it seems to be a manufacture defect.

Same prolems here, low volume and hard to hear people talking. I was hoping there was an easy fix. Doesn't look like it. But using the speaker function does help..but not a satisfactory fix in my book.

Thanks, but we've been repeatedly unplugging the base over the last year. The first time we thought that was the solution, but after a couple of weeks it went back to the same problem. So we unplugged it again and it worked again...for a few days. Sometimes after unplugging it may work for a week or so and some times only for a few hours.

Originally Panasonic replaced the base and phones. The new ones worked fine for several months. Then it was back to the same old stuff. I'm about to pitch the whole works and get something different.

  • rhalstead Apr 19, 2008

This is apparently known defect as right in the directions it says, If the volume is weak, move closer to the base. IF that doesn't work, sent them in for replacement which we did. When the replacements started doing the same thing we should have returned them immediately, but one thing and another and they didn't get returned within the warranty period.

To those that have this problem, get them back to the company for replacement within the warranty period.

As the signals drop instead of fading which digital should do there may be another signal, or noise interfering. OTOH it may just be a poor design. What I need is a good spectrum analyzer that will hit 5 Gigs, but they are a wee bit on the expensive side, even used.

As I can not pin it down to an actual problem with the phone I'd not go so far as to tell people to stay away from this phone, but I'd certainly not recommend it.

I have had the phone for nearly 2 years.  For the last year or so the volume has worsened to the point that it is nearly impossible to hear incoming calls. The phone is of use at this point and I guess I'll have to replace it - not with another product!

We just started having this same problem and I have enven had the phone company out to check our lines. I am now wondering if I should spend the money buying a new battery for the handset or just getting a band new phone.

I just unplugged the base unit and it appears to have worked! (at least for now). Thanks for the suggestion.....

Same here. Sound is so weak now, even the speakerphone doesn't cut it!

I have the same problems described above. I have a filter on all of my phone lines ( I have DSL) and the problem was solved temporarily. Then, the low volume resumed.

If you have DSL then you need to put a filter on your phone lines.

I've got the same problem with my phone KX-TG5621. I have no oher wireless devices in the house. I actually have returned this phone for another of the same model and it still does the same thing. I think it actually is the phone itself. These phones may not actually be as good as it seems. Does anyone else have these problems?

I was having the same problem, low volume, with the KX-TG5621. While looking at this message board, I unplugged the base unit and pulled the battery out of the phone. Plugged the unit back in and reinserted the battery. I had to then place the phone back on the base. The problem is fixed now. The wireless function of my laptop did not seem to have any effect on the receiving volume.

I tried taking the battery out of the phone before but that did not work. I guess you have to unplug the base unit.

Need to delete phone entries in the Phonebook

Hi. Not sure if this will help but on my Panasonic cordless phone (different model to yours), there's a button labeled "mute/clear" which is used to clear text when entering text for phone entries. Well, if you scroll through you phone book to the the entry you want to delete and then rather than pressing "Edit", press "clear" and, if it's like mine, it will ask you if you want to erase the entry, and you press "yes". Hope it works for you.

When I try to make a call with my Panasonic kx-td7895w cordless phone, it says in the display "PITS-PGM NO?" What does that mean??

That depends on what you have the phone connected to. There's a switch on the base that referrs to EMSS. It's a dual Panasonic SYSTEM phone or Single line cordless. The PITS-PGM NO? means you've pressed the PROGRAM button in the EMSS mode.

Phone ringer

You can download the manual for a very similar phone, the KX-TG2302 at http://service.us.panasonic.com/OperMan/findmanual.aspx?cat=TEL and you can figure out all the features of a KX-TG2303. The simple answer is: while you are not using the phone, press the up or down volume button and it should turn the ringer back on. To turn the ringer back off, press and hold the down volume button until you hear two beeps. You can adjust the volume while the phone is ringing. The manual will tell you how to change your ringer tones, etc.
