I want to upgrade my processor for an Asus Cm1630-06 but cant find the socket type. its listed as None Spesific. How can i figure out what will fit.

your model 1630 is listed as with AMD Phenom ii processor and DDR3 memory on asus web site. if thats true (you typed its Athlon?) then it should be AM3 socket.

I am using amd sempron LE-1100 i want to upgrade to a gaming pc so that i can play the sims3. so if i like to upgrade to amd athlon x2 how to know my socket type. please help

Your socket is AM2. You can put any AMD processor that has AM2. If the processor is AM3 just upgrade the bios of your motherboard and it should work. If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. Cheers

I have at current a AMD sempron 3400+1.80GHz processor,socket AM2(940)core VID 1.100V,core speed 1002.2 MHz,bus speed 200.4MHz,HT link 801.7 MHz,stepping 2,L1 data and inst 64 KBytes-2-way,level 2 256...

The main thing is before you go swapping cpu there are some things to consider. 1. the new processor may draw more power than your current power supply can push out. 2. it will probably generate a lot more heat...both are bad..

But if you insist you can get away with an Athlon 64 X2 5600 or 6000+ cpu be careful though because some have different voltages which may not work with your board.

hope that helps.

Hello again, Upgrading CPU's

Your board supports socket AM2 CPUs the fastest of which is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ dual-core processor at 3.1 GHz.

Your motherboard does not accept socket AM3 CPUs.

Hardware upgrade required for autocad 2009

Your existing CPU will not work with that motherboard. The AM2+/AM2 processor slot is for AMD processors only. For this motherboard, you will need one of the following processors: Phenom FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2

check on system lights... what are the diagnostic lights telling you??
if the 4 lights are off you may have a problem with the led itself or the powersupply is just messing with your head.
