Question about Wacom (PTZ930AC) Graphic Tablet

Mildly annoying problem with pen pressure..

Or lack thereof. O:

I draw with Photoshop Elements, and lately-- almost every time I use my tablet-- the pen-pressure function won't work. Otherwise, it's perfectly normal. I can get it to work again by reinstalling the tablet, but the next time I go to use it, it's usually stopped working. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks so much. (:

I have the same problem . .. I have windows vista, and my pen was working fine for a while until the pressure suddenly went wrong. The pressure isn't working and it just comes out to that size. I just recently got it, and I have no idea what to do.

Same here too. I don't have any pen pressure, and my computer doesn't even recognize that I've installed my pen tablet(many times over) and it's plugged in. It says there's no device attatched or installed.

I have a 9x12 Intuos GD 0912 R, and when I use it in CS3, my tablet doesn't recognize pen pressure, or when I use the eraser bit.

*Pen pressure works in other programs, such as Adobe Flash CS3.

Re-installing the driver doesn't fix the problem.

I've also got a faulty power chord. I have to bend it in a certain way so that my tablet gets power. Does anyone know where I can get a new power chord/adapter?

Your pen nib might not be working, when you bought the tablet it should have come with three replaement nibs, just pull to old one out (i use my teeth (: ) and push the new one in, it shoudl fit pretty snugly.

Pen keeps drawing when I lift it off tablet

This problem commonly occurs due to a stuck "nib" sensor (the sensor that detects pen pressure).

Take out the "nib" (important, so the sensor isn't damaged further) and whack the pen on your desk (or drop it on the floor from 3 feet up). It re-seats the "nib" sensor when it's stuck. If this doesn't work after multiple attempts, then the sensor may be too damaged.

My Genius Gpen 4500 has shown no Pressure recognition on Photoshop, Painter and the wizard.

Hello. I'm not quite sure if this will be useful for you, but i'll tell you what happened to me. I bought the very same model but without the mouse, the G-pen450. When I just bought it, I just intalled the driver from the CD, and both the painter X and photoshop cs1 trials included. I had no problem when I was drawing in photosho cs1, but when I uninstalled it and and installed photoshop cs2, I was still able to draw with the pen, but it had no pressure sensibility, no matter how hard did I press the pen against the table or how many times i enabled or disabled the pressure settings in both photoshop and the tablet driver.

what i did was downloading the new driver (the 2.0 version) for the g-pen450 from the genius page, and simply installed it ... and it didn't work, worse; now even the pen suite didn't recongize the pressure control, so, what I did was to uninstall the WHOLE software included with the table along with the driver, and then I reinstalled the new version (2.0). After I installed it, the instaling program asked me to restart the computer, so I did it. Then, after the computer was done restarting, I connected the tablet to a USB port, and then the computer recognized it, actually it told me that it recognized the tablet, two HID compatible dispossitives, and a HID compatible mouse pen. It opened that window that appears everytime you connect new hardware to the computer, and it proceeded to "install" all the drivers needed for the dispossitives.

After the computer finished installing, it asked again to restart the PC, soooo I restarted it again, when it was done, I connected the tablet once again, and this time it displayed that "your new hardware is installed and ready to use" balloon on the bottom right corner of the screen. So I tried opening photoshop CS2 again and drawing with the tablet, and this time it did work perfectly.

I think it's matter of uninstalling the old driver, and the bundle software (annotate all, pen commander, pen mail, pen signer, etc. ) and then instaling the 2.0 version of the driver.

Pressure sensitivity problem in Photoshop CS3

OK, I found the problem -- if you open photoshop with the mouse (whether it be through the quicklaunch bar, start menu, or desktop icon), the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. If you open it with the stylus or function button (I have a function button mapped for photoshop now because of this, since there's no icon on my tablet's display with how I have my display set up) the pressure sensitivity works fine.

A quick KIND of fix, but until Adobe actually does something about it, this is probably the easiest way to do it.
