Hi, I assume this is a Desktop computer: The Monitor receives, graphics or text from the PC (personal computer) and displays it on the screen.of the Monitor. If you see a message on the screen that says * NO SIGNAL * in most cases the Monitor is good, and the Monitor is either not connected to the PC or there is a problem with the PC Check the connections and the video card. The problem could also be related a failure of the motherboard, memory or the processor
We have a generic AC adapter that will work on the SGI F180 monitor. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com and click on LCD power link. The correct one is the high current adapter, the F180 draws 5.8 amps at 12volts.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
i have the same problem i think. like, if i dont use it for a long time, it'll display a nice perfect image, but then it goes black. everytime i turn it on after that its only about 3 seconds then it goes black. i have 2 monitors right now and i know its not my pc.
Hi, normally monitors have an indicator light that lites up when power is applied. This changes color or another lites up when it receives video signal from the computer. If no light then most likely defective monitor.
Possibly the only way to positively check is to replace it with another known good monitor and connect to the PC. Power up and there should be a display. If there is then the 1st monitor is defective, if still nothing then it is the PC that is defective.
It might also be worth to check/replace the power cord and/or video cable if applicable.
Hopes this works out for you. Good luck and post again how things turn up.
