Re: Slot Light

The disk slot comes on briefly when:
-You turn the power on
-You put a disk in or take one out

And it pulses when you have a new message on your Wii message board. It does not stay lit while the Wii is on.

My Wii is all plugged in but the light is out like its unplugged. we keep unplugging and plugging it back in but it is still not working, how do I fix this?

I think you are asking about the slot illumination for the wii this is how you change it:
  1. Access the Wii System Settings.
  2. Move the cursor over the blue arrow on the right and and select it once to reach System Settings 2.
  3. Choose "WiiConnect24."

The following options will be available:

  • WiiConnect24
  • Standby Connection
  • Slot Illumination

Choose Slot Illumination
Slot Illumination (Bright, Dim, and Off)

WiiConnect24 can let you know when it has received data by making the Wii console's Disc Slot illuminate. Select the option you want, then confirm your selection.

Bright: The Wii's Disc Slot will display a bright blue light when WiiConnect24 has received new data.
Dim: The Wii's Disc Slot will display a dim blue light when WiiConnect24 has received new data.
Off: The Wii's Disc Slot will not blink when WiiConnect24 has received new data.

Wii system keeps showing erroe reading disc please turn off

This message can display if you eject a disc during game play. If this is when the message displayed, make sure that you return to the Wii Menu before changing discs if you wish to play a different game.
If your Wii console is laying flat, it may be positioned upside down. Ensure that is positioned right-side up: the game disc slot should be above all three buttons and the SD Card slot.
Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc.

Wii console not working correctly

When you connect to the internet wirelessly and Wii Connect24 your Wii will stay connected and recieve messages, updates, etc. That is why the disk area stays blue and the amber light stays on. Sometimes this will create a power failure. Just unplug your Wii from the wall and let it rest for a few minutes and plug it back in. The problem should be solved.

I think two discs are in the wii console

it shouldn't be! :O)
the disc slot isn't that big, it uses light sensors to detect a disc and they spin that fast i would have expected anything unusual in there would damage the disc.

If its not under warranty and you are sure there is something untoward going on then i would open it up and have a look. you may need a special screwdiver bit to get in there so shine a torch in the slot first just incase you can avoid poking around

Was playing game went to turn off to change and disc stuck wont come out

I can help with getting the disc out.
There is no need to open up the console! Make sure the power is off! Get someone to hold the PS3 upside down (so the disc slot is facing down) then get 2 butter knives insert them carefully one on the left and one on the right of the disc slot. Now gently push the knives away from eachother so that the one on left goes left and the one on the right goes right. You will feel them push the brackets that hold the disc in. As you push the brackets you will release the mechanism that holds the disc in and it should just drop out. I did this with mine when my little boy decided to put a credit like card in it!

Can't play with 2 players

Make sure you have paired both remotes to your Wii console.
Open the little door on the front of the Wii (under the disc slot), and open the battery cover of the Wii remote (but leave the batteries in).

Push the red button on the Wii (next to the SD card slot), then push the red button on the Wii remote (next to the batteries). You should see the Wii remote's lights blink.

Do the same for your other Wii remote.

Now on the bottom row of 4 lights on the Wii remote, one should have the first light lit, and the other should have the second light lit. You should also be able to see a cursor for each remote on the Wii Menu.
