Question about JVC Everio GZ-MG130 Camcorder

Everio GZ-MG130 everything!

This is the worst Christmas present I have ever gotten. I was able to burn one DVD then it went down hill form there. I never could burn DVD from the camera, I called Tech support and they recommend that you back up your files to the PC first. Try getting ahold of them too! It is a fricken hour on hold telling you they are experiencing high call volumes, Huh? wonder why? I did that and was able to burn one DVD after many attempts. I had to use the ''Create DVD advanced " option using the Power Producer software. (nothing mentioned in the book or tutorial about that). It did let me burn one DVD. The second attempt to save my files to the PC some came across with only audio no video? The book says not to delete or rename the files on the PC, but to use the camra, (ya good luck with that one). Tried the direct DVD burn, doesn't work either. It says no disc has been inserted. My files are on the "C" drive in a folder named Myworks, when you try to view those files the "Windows Media Player" launches, and you cant even view files from there. I am taking mine back and buying a Sony!

We have the GZ-MG130U and can not create a DVD of the many videos we now have stored up on our camcorder?? I have tried six ways from sunday, but can not burn a DVD. I think the problem is that all the video files are a ".mod" file and nothing recognizes that extension as a video file. How do I download my videos onto a DVD???

    I appreciate any help .....

I did finally get my dvd's burned, I had to use the power producer on the CD that you downloaded that came with the camera. click on the Produce Movie or Disc, then click on the green arrow at the bottom right of your screen. Then click on the import video files than you want to burn. and click the green arrow on the right bottom of your screen again. Make sure your disc is inserted and click the icon at the bottom right in the middle it is the burn button.

Once I connect my camera to my PC and turn it on, none of the prompts work. It totally freezes- nothing- can't send videos to my computer or anything.

You need to download the movie on to computer and then to DVD.

You need an interface. You cannot directly burn them from camera.

Hey there,

I have the solution to your burning problem mate. It isn't a problem with your camera, it's with the dvd-burner.
The dvd burner has an outdated driver. You need to go to Control Panel, and System, then Device Manager. Click on the +plus sign next to Disk Drives and double click on the disk drive device listing. If you now hit the Driver tab, you'll see the Date and Version of the driver. Note this to compare to drivers you might find online.
Now type in the exact device name into google, followed by the word 'driver'. A bit of searching and you should find one. (That is if you haven't already tried just hitting the Update Driver button!)

Install, reboot and try burning the disk then. It should work.

Hope that helps

PS That's the manual for your camera that I found while searching the forums, in PDF form. Just for future reference.
