Generic problem for all CD and DVD Burners

16X8 DVD Dual won't read dvd.

posted by Linuxlover on Jan 16, 2008

Micro Advantage 16X8 DVD Dual worked fine until I played a DVD with Digital Rights software embeded in it. The DVD no longer reads any disk CD or DVD . I run Fedora Core 6 however the DVD is still deaf or blind to CDs or DVDs when running Windows 2000 .
I have the same problem.

Hi,
set it up on a seperate IDE Channel, or change from master to slave. Or Vice-Versa.
Secondly you could try re-installing windows 2000, this should repair any corrupt or missing drivers.
Finally see the manufacturers website, to see if any firmware upgrades are available.
Hope This helps.
