When I turn on the camera, nothing happens and the screen/view finder is blank. i checked the standby switch its off. when i press record it will record but on the tape it is just a black screen? any ideas or soloutions? When I put it in VCR mode, it turns on, and will play back video the power button lights up, thanks
i know exactly whats wrong! the same thing happend to me.
1. turn off the gl1
2.look at the record button with the lock and standby switch
3.flip the switch all the way to standby because it might be stuck in the middle
4. turn on your camera
Firstly, make sure the lens cap is not on the lens :-)
1) turn Standby switch to: Standby
The camera power indicator will light up (red) and PAUSE will appear in the camera display. You should now be able to see an image on the viewfinder.
2) Turn the Program Selector to: Easy
3) Press: Record
If you cannot see anything through the viewfinder at this point, then there could be a serious problem with your lens/iris function and may require technical assistance.

Also...
If you meant the Camera "IS" recording onto tape, but you cannot see anything on the LCD screen, then you may need to activate the LCD screen but pressing the MENU button (while in camera mode) and turning LCD screen to "ON".

The plug Connection from the DC 905 to the CA-910 power supply seems to be loose and brakes contact and shuts down. Seems like the problem is on the CA-910 socket side. Any quick/easy fix.

I bought on e bay a canon video camera GL-1. Unfortunate I never try to see it how good the camera works
The seller never mention anything wrong on the item
After some months later I decide to try it doing an assignment and charge for the event.
But the bad news was when I review the tapes and see the image get pixelated sometimes
When I was recording the event I was watching my monitor for anything abnormal and I never see anything wrong! The image was perfect all the time.
But when I do play back there it is... Image get pixelated in some parts of the tape!
Any suggestion or comments will be very appreciated!!!
Thanks to an e bay sellers!
