Question about Dacor Preference PGR30SS Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

REALLY long to preheat ...

I recently bought a used Dacor PGR30SS (gas and convection) from a homeowner. The person I bought it from had just moved into a new house and didn't like the oven b/c she said it took a really long time to preheat.

She wasn't kidding. Started it up last night at 7:49pm, set it for 400 degrees. At 8pm the internal temperature hadn't risen above 135. Finally at 8:30 on the dot the oven beeped to let me know it had reached 400 degrees.

I realize I should first do a temp check to make sure the internal thermometer is actually not the issue, and plan to try to do that tonight. But any other suggestions?

I have a dual fuel Dacor ERD30 range that will not stay hot. Lately, it will heat up to the desired temperature and beep to indicate it is ready, but then will not hold the temperature. And strangely, if...

Sounds similar to what mine is doing.
Since Dacor uses the gas broiler to preheat the oven, the problem is that the lower heating element isn't getting power.
I took out the element and verified that the element is still good, but no AC voltage coming from the relay board to the element.
Try setting on the Pure Convection mode - it will probably heat up and hold the temp fairly well - that still doesn't do any good if you need to bake something covered (convection modes are useless for covered container..

Pgr 30 oven takes a long time to heat up

Hot surface Ignitor is bad most likely. Normal wear and tear. You can check it by looking at it, it should be black. If it's white, it's no good.

Is the hot surface ignitor supposed to stay on all the time on my PGR30SS? My oven takes a long time to heat up.

( yes) most ovens that use hot surface system stay on during heating . if its weak is orange glow instead of white hot . this would cause slow heat up / hope this helped ****

ERD30S- oven wont turn on

Hi! jpdufilho
Try tuning off the power to the unit for 20 minutes. If this does not fix the problem you may need a new control board/panel. If you have a lot of lightning in your area you should have several surge protectors in your house. All electronic devices need some type of surge suppression.

Oven door won't open

Hi... Having problems with my Dacor ERD36 as well, I came across this posting that might help with your particular situation of not being able to open the oven door.

Here is the link to the forum:

In case you can't get to the forum link, here is the response:

Have a 2nd person at the circuit breaker turn off power. You press and hold the cooktime keypad. The other person turns the breaker back on. The display will show the 4-character ID code of the ERC (e.g., 1180). You have 30 seconds between each test.

Press and hold these keys on sequence:

convection bake
standard bake
pure convection
timer 2 (momentary push only)
stop time

Finally, we arrive at the test we want:
Open the door, push and hold cook time for 10 seconds. Self clean latch motor will activate. Door latch will complete a cycle. The test will end the ERC will display the time of day.

Complete this test within 30 seconds or you'll get an F0 code (stuck keypad).

I hope this helps.
