Question about Consew 226R-1
I have just picked my power machine up from the repair shop, 90.00 later, it made a thump again and stopped picking up the thread. Something is really wrong that they didn't find....Any suggestions?
Could be the set screw holding the hook in position wasn't tightened fully and the hook shaft slipped into the proper position, but out of timing. Look to see if the hook is picking up the thread at the very bottom of the needle thrust. That is, just when the needle bar is about to rise, the hook point should snag the thread. If it doesn't then the timing is off - or the hook has to be turned to the proper place and the set screw tightened.
