I turn on the mp3 player and get a shutting down screen..

On the left side of the zen is a small hole, in that hole is the reset button, find something thin to poke in it, paperclips work nicely.

Update the firmware that creative put out you should be fine from there.

hey same answer i put for the other one. on the side hold on the reset button for 5 seconds with a pen/pencil then turn it back on and it should work fine if not let me know

charge is then if dat doesnt work go to zen website and get the mp3 player recover program

there is a small hole in the bottom to reset the device. Use a paperclip to push it.

try reinstalling firmware.

There is no repair service for a cracked screen - the whole player has to be replaced -sorry

Its possible that the battery just needs to be charged. Also make sure you are holding down the on off slider for about six seconds, it won't turn on if you only hold it down for a second or two.

I just found this on another website and it seems to be working so give it a shot


Listen!!!!! Anyone having problems try this before you blame the product. Turn off player........remove battery.......hold on button ON and put battery back in while still holding the power button on. When power comes on release the power button. You should now see a clean format and re-boot screen. Use the clean function two times. After the second time go down to reboot and should be fine. Worked for me. The Zen Micro Photo is a sweet mp3 player. Dont blame the product for something YOU most likely did. This will fix 99% of your players problems
