Re: no sound

I think your speaker is working in good condition
but your computer audio out not working
due to driver or hardware problem

  1. check sound driver is properly installed
  2. using other multimedia software instead of now using
  3. check audio hardware trouble

1. Try looking in the taskbar of the Windows screen and selecting the volume control ( a speaker icon) check the mixer see if the volume is not muted or in the "0" position
2.Check the "input port on the sound card where you connected the new speaker assembly.
3. Check the volume control knob on the speaker assembly to see if it is not in the off or lowest volume position.
4. Check the new speaker by connecting them to another computer that has the sound already on and working this will let you know that the speaker assembly is good.
6. check the sound card drivers to the internal sound card that is on the mother board if this is where your sound card is located. Use the "manager" to see if it is working properly. If not then do a "reinstall of the sound card drivers or use the "update feature in the hardware window for the sound card to install the latest version of sound card drivers.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

I have an ongoing buzzing/interference sound with these speakers - THey are new - I bought them because I thought it was the old speakers that I had which cauused the problem, but it persisted with these...

Sounds like electrical interference. If you can, try moving the speaker wires. They are like antennas. They might help to find the offending device. Otherwise try moving electrical devices away from the speakers and wire. Do it one device at a time so you will know which one is causing the problem.

Computer Doesn't Recognize Wired Speakers

The problem from your description would probably be that your USB audio devices has taken over as primary sound device

This a regular thing with USB audio equipment

Call up the volume control properties and under properties for playback make sure the USB device is NOT at the top of the list.

If it is you need to relegate it to second place.

Do that from the "adjust audio properties" then select the Audio tab and work from there to change the DEFAULT device.

Your description of the problem was great and gave me the info to work out what I think you need.

If it is let us know by responding to this post.

you can try and plug the speaker set into an old walkman or ipod headphone jack if you have it and see if they work, if they dont work with any other input they are defective so take them back.

This sounds more like a sound card issue. Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager and check your sound card.

The speakers get plugged into the audio output jack on the back of your computer.

ok if im getting what your saying
the port of the computer for line in is not recognizing the sound of your sterio
ok there should be extra jack on speaker wire that should goto line in on computer
computers dont find these jacks cause there already predetermind when the cards drivers was installed
hook the jack to line out speaker out port if the speakers are powered find the power on them turn up
then goto your sound setup get to your volume controls and find the volume controls that are muted and or turned down even in advanced settings
if you recently changed your sound card you also want to be in the sounds setup and make sure that the propper software driver is connected and not the old one still in its place sometimes new drivers dont set the old drivers aside but it adds to the sound setup list
you will find the sound setup in control panel
also there is that slight chance you will have to reinstall software again
hope this has some help for you seeing i have no way of actually seeing the speakers in person and how they work
