Question about JVC HD-52Z585 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Blank Screen; Blinking Blue Light.

I recently replaced the lamp on my JVC HD-52Z585 with part number TS-CL110U as described in the manual.

A couple of times now the TV has gone completely blank and the power light (red) will stay on but the lamp light (blue) will just blink. I can reset only by unplugging the TV and it seems to work for a while but then the problem shows up again. I've been doing research and can't find anything on this problem. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

61 inch projection tv flashing on and off

The most common problem with JVC LCD rear projection TV is bulb failure. Do not panic, this is normal after 2-5 years of use.

You can change the complete assembly or for less cost just change the bulb. Do not use Osram or other funny brand "rebuilt" or locally made bulb. Use a Philips replacement and all should be good.

Changing the bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and taking it apart like a puzzle and replacing the bulb. JVC are a little more difficult to do than most others because the wires on the original bulb are molded into the glass on the original bulb. Wires must be cut and stripped of insulation before connecting to the new bulb.

All JVC LCD Rear projections TVs use TSCL110 TSCL110U TS-CL110U Lamps.

Have lamp message in JVC HD-52Z585 to replace lamp #TS-CL110U.

I would, it's cheaper than replacing the whole TV and you can do it yourself so no labor bill. The new lamp usually comes with directions and in my experience the JVC lamps are outlasting some of the other ones.

Looking to buy part# TS-CL11OU. Looking for a JVC service center in my area. I live in Oxon Hill, MD 20745

There are no registered JVC service centers in your area for a rear projection HD. The closest one it shows is Cypress, CA...which isn't a lot of help for you.

I found this part on several websites as well as Ebay and JVCs website.

This website had it for about $160.

I also found a website that had a great "How To" with steps on replacing it once you get the bulb.

Good luck!

It may be lamp, Look at the lamp and see if there is any discoloration inside, but do not touch the lamp glass. The oils from your hand will heat up and blow the lamp. The lamp part# for your model is TS-CL110u. Hope this helps.
