After the player plays the dvd for a few minutes 5-10 it becomes very loud with only static. Shortly after that it gets very slow. I just tried it in the front three plugs of the tvand the three in the back and it did not work in them so i returned it to plug into the dish receiver in ''input'' 2 and it is doing the same thing............... I also tried the dvd in my two computer dvd players with no problem.
also, this is the second unit same model and number we are trying. We took the first one back with the same problem and got the second one and it has the same problem too.
Call 1-800-605-8610 to see about getting a replacement - many of these work fine, but it is a cheap ----- player - available for as low as $25 in some locations. all you can do is reset the player by unplugging/replugging while holding the prev/rew button. If that fails, this puppy is toast.

Usually, you either have dust on the laser, so it can't see anything, or you have something on your disc (or damage to the inside part of the disc, which tells the player where all the files are). You can try cleaning your disc, but if you've already tried more than one disc, you might be able to find a CD or DVD cleaning disc at an electronics store. If your DVD player plays CDs, either one might work, but if it doesn't play CDs, then you will have to look for a DVD cleaner. As a last resort, you could try getting a can of electronics dusting spray (don't use a vacuum, as the static from a vacuum can damage electronics) and use several quick sprays, while the DVD player is unplugged. Give it a few minutes to dry out, then give the DVD one more try.
1. Usually the DVD player can play for years then you will get one that will play 6 months. 2. some times this is due to dust or dirt in the mechanism. 3. A can of compressed air sprayed through the DVD drive will sometime clear this issue. 4. the static sounds also can come from a dirty DVD disk. 5.Wash the DVD disk with a mild hand soap with warm water not hot then dry with a cotton cloth or bath towel. 6. check the sound cable to the mother board it may be loose also , this can cause static sound. 7. This may take a long time but if you have done a "de-fragmentation" of the hard drive this could be an issue also.
Perhaps some of the belts that help your vcr run are stretched out. These belts can be replaced through your manufacturer or you can get them from your local Radio Shack.
When you hear the static, turn power off and then back on again and it will go away. Some players have been know to do that. It is a problem with the programming. Just turn power off and right back on again and it should be fine.
I had this same problem and held down the play button after unplugging the player. What i found was that i could boot up, but that shortly after the screen would scramble and alternate between static images and a green screen that flickers. I believe the single chip that drives this has failed.
