Question about Zenith E44W46LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Light flashes, bulb fires, no LCD!!

This problem is intermittent but a few times per week I will turn on the power and the green light flashes ten or twelve times (like normal) but nothing happens once the light is solid green. I can see that the bulb is coming on like normal. I have to turn the TV off and back on several times (up to thirty minutes worth) to finally get the LCD to work. I have a warranty and had the TV repair place check on it. They said Zenith told them there is only one part that would cause this problem. The repair guy replaced that part for me, and it seemed to help (for about three weeks), but now the problems are arising again. Any help available?

Thanks for the reply. However, I can see the bulb coming on every single time. It's the LCD that's not working. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the ballast is faulty or else your lamp is getting close to needing replacement. Hope this helps.

I have an optima hd180 that will not power up. The projector was indicating a bad bulb, so I replaced that with a new one. Now it still will not power up and the fan does not come on either.

Problem w/ OEM bulb, it causes a lot of issues from my experience. Your ballast might have gone bad, hopefully it's just that. Check the voltage output of the ballast, make sure you're getting the proper amount.

No picture

Our LCD television did that and we had to replace the picture bulb in front. It was about a $200 item. Good luck. Does the green light flash intermittently? If so, it's the main bulb that brings you a picture. When you get the bulb, get instuctions on how to get to it. Be careful pulling panels to get to it as they will break if you're not careful.

Your bulb is going bad. It is taking a long time to warm up. Replace the bulb per your owners manual and you should be fine.
