Question about KitchenAid KWCU360J Kitchen Hood

1 Answer

Hood lights constantly zapping out.

Have replaced all bulbs - they worked initially but zapped out. Wondering if there is a fuse or something. The wiring diagram says there is a "transformer" but how the hell to get the thing open is beyond me.

Aha! Found it when I took out the grease traps for cleaning. You can stick your head up there and see the wiring. I'm calling a tech to take it from there. I'll let you know what he finds.

    Good luck.

I have a similar unit - KitchenAid wall mounted stainless steel stove hood (model KWCU285HSS). Please let me know if you figure out how to open the thing/canopy up. I'm trying to get into the area above the florescent light & starter.

check the model number and look for replacement bulbs. There are no user serviceable parts in modern devices like that.

My microwave with hot heat the food

Could be a lot of things... If it's quiet when you try to zap something, then suspect a blown fuse inside or a burnt wire or the relay board. If it's extremely noisy when you try to zap something, then suspect the Mag tube, HV diode, or HV capacitor. Also, the windings on your HV transformer could be burnt, but that's not as common as the above mentioned items.

I accidently put my battery in my car wrong way have changed it back after starting my car now the central lock/heater/inside light eletric windows dont work until i start the car

u blew ur fuse look the fuses under dash replace the ones u blew n u more likely blew 1/2/3-4 under dash to check them u sent back current thru live wires n grounded wires that arent suposse to have juice going thru to etc. u may even zap ur altnator the few times ive crisscrossed them i fried altnator or fuse but thats what fuses are meant for to much of one or another current to it zaps cuts off electricity going to so it dont zap it protects the main area from being fried so easily

Problem with rear tail light/brake light

Resolution Below -

Okay, I had the same problem...My 04 Suzuki DR200SE tail light /brake light is not working. Brake lights works in park mode not in ON with engine running or not. Tail light not in either mode.

Volt meter shows the socket is working correctly, fuses are good. I even adjusted the pressure switch for the rear brake application. MOM shows nothing positive to help me trouble shoot and neither does the internet. Lots of people with same issue, but I'm not seeing any resolution.

I'm posting the resolution as lots have had this issue, but no one has posted how they fixed it. It's the ground wire inside the tail section. Which is why the volt meter (which is grounded) shows the socket is good. You'll have the pull the tail section and note the ground wire has either broken off, or the wire has sucked up inside the insulation. You'll need to strip insulation, get to good wire and reattach it. I'd even solder it to keep it solid. Hope this helps someone else!!

Oven lights won't come on, bulb good, no volt. to socket, is there a fuse

Well here is the delima...Customer changes one of the light bulbs without unplugging unit.....this allows a cap. to discharge on the main computer PCB and zaps the on/off light function.

Contact whirlpool customer service they may may help you out.
This is a known issue.

Hope this helps

"zapped" tv (dee7189)

I would need more details on this problem. Does the tv turn on? If so, what do you see on the screen? If you mean by "zapped" that the tv received a lightning strike and does not turn on, it's possible there are several damaged circuit board components. Depending on the severity of the strike, it's possible that just the fuse is blown. I need more details to advise further.

Ford probe, blew dash and centre console lighting

there is a very good chance that you smoked a wire somewhere under the dash. if this is the case you will need to find the wire and replace the entire length of wire
