Re: My TI-82 wontdraw graphs!

One of your stat plots is on. either go to 2nd y= and turn off yout stat plots. Or reset your caculator. 2nd then + then 7 then 1 then 2

What type of plot? Try turning off the stat plot features.

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

If this doesn't do it, could you post the exact function you're trying to graph?

Go to http://education.ti.com/downloads/guidebooks/graphing/84p/TI84Plus_guidebook_EN.pdf
to download the manual. On page 401, you will find the following:

INVALID DIM • The ERR:INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be corrected by turning off the stat plots. To turn the stat plots off, press y , and then select 4:PlotsOff. • You specified a list dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 999. • You specified a matrix dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 99. • You attempted to invert a matrix that is not square.

You have to turn all statistical plots OFF before you draw function graphs. Press [2nd][Y=] to open the statistical plot configuration screen. Press [4:PlotsOFF] and then [ENTER]. When calculator answers DONE you are ready to draw function plots.

Hello,

The easiest and quickest way to start graphing is to reset the RAM. Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset], then [CLEAR] to clear the RAM Cleared Message and go to the main screen.

Hope it helps.

You have two lists that don't agree in length.

Solution 1 (easy)

Press [y=] and look at the top line - one of your Plots is highlighted.

Move the arrow to the highlighted one, press enter to get it un-highlighted.

Solution 2 (permanent)

Press [STAT] - EDIT: [1] to edit your lists. Go to the bottom of the lists and see which one is the longest. Delete (DELETE, not clear) the "extra" entries in the longest list until all lists are the same length.

It means that your Xmin or Xmax is messed up. it often shows up when you are plotting somethings (histogram for exanple) and you don't have enough X or Y range to fit all the points in it. it also happens when you are multiplying matricies without using the right dimensions. ERR:INVALID DIM just means your dimension is invalid.
