GE front loading washer - WBVH6240FWW

Timer keeps resetting itself throughout the cycle on a brand new washer. A 61 minute cycle took 94 minutes to complete. Is this normal?

Did you find any answers? Mine Ive had little over a year. Just out of Warranty. I washed a load earlier it just beeped after 2hrs. and 10 min. and that was on speed wash. Does yours stop during a cycle and if you hit the start button it continues and finishes the load?

Most modern front loading machines have a ESTIMATED time display, this time can change based on the inputs from different sensors and water temperature. So this should be normal.

Thanks if you have any other questions feel free..

FYI --- leave the door open between cycles so the tub will dry and wont start smelling foul.

I would check screens on valve and hoses to be sure they are not stopped up. Also an unbalanced load can cause that if it's a top loader. Suspension rods would be the problem in that case.

WASHER TROUBLESHOOTING

My GE front loader keeps stopping in the middle of the cycle. It does it over and over and never completes the cycle. It just started doing this a couple of days ago. It took me all day to do one load of laundry the other day. Tried again today with no luck. I tried it on three different cycles and all the same. It just keeps stopping and going to pause. When I shut it off it takes about 20 minutes for the door to unlock. Is this problem worth fixing or should I junk it?

Washer doesn't run all the way thru cycles. It's

Removed hose connecting to water pump at tub. Removed clog (ink pen, coins, etc). Replaced and ran washer. Ran through all cycles - no leaking, no pausing of cycles. Problem is resolved.

Ge front load washer won't go into rinse cycle.

Check the cold water hose. My brand new machine had this behavior until I discovered a kink in the cold water hose - works great now.

Washer won't wash

Hi!
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

GE WPSE5290 Prodigy Performance Profile not Spinning; no obstructions

Are you check darin hose clogged? Test this... wait for a few minutes, pauses of up to three minutes may occur between cycles as the timer advances in steps. For example, there may be a 3-minute delay at the end of agitation and prior to the washer pumping out the water. The pump-out process itself can then take an additional 3 minutes. After the pump out, the washer will begin to spin. Do not manually advance the timer if it's pausing after agitation, as you may miss the pump-out cycle.

Check your house fuses, circuit breakers, and the wall outlet. A loss of electrical power to the washer will cause a failure to spin. To check for power at the wall outlet, carefully plug a small table lamp or hair dryer into the wall outlet and turn it on. If it does not work, you may have blown a fuse, tripped a circuit breaker, or have a defective wall outlet.

Make sure washer lid is down. Some older washers will agitate with lid up, but none will spin with lid up.

Advance timer slightly to make sure timer was not in a pause mode. The word "Spin" may not appear on the dial. Spin occurs in the area just before the "Off" position.

Front load models only: Be sure the dispenser drawer is closed. Front load models only: Is the load too small? Add one or two similar items to help balance out the load.

For models with rotary knob "Spin Speed" selector switch: check that the pointer of knob is not stuck between speed selections.

If machine pumps water out and you are positive that the motor is running, but tub is not spinning, then the problem is mechanical involving a clutch, belt, or possibly the transmission and will require service.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.
