My dog bit my charger and sliced my wires. When I plugged it into my computer I guess a fuse went out. I was wondering if I changed the device(if there even is one) inside the actual laptop that connects to the charger it might work. Is there such a thing, if so what is it called? I tried speaking to Compaq but they gave me some late excuse about this and that.

it is called battery charger board.

If you got a new power supply.Try this first:
