Try this:
Open door. Hold door button. Have someone push start button. When they push start button, spin the drum wiht your hand. If it starts working, the problem is the start windings in the motor are not being energized. Could be capacitor but not all motors use them. Could be the syntrifugal switch in the motor or something else in the starting system. May want to think about getting another dryer from a place like Lowes. They are usually around $200 and up for a good one.
Good Luck

Tumbler wont turn-kenmore series70

two things come to mind here. The belt may have snapped, slipped off motor pulley or motor has burned out.
When operating does it hum like the motor is running? if so then the first suggestion is true(belt problem) if not the motor may be to blame.
There are many repair videos out, even one could be about your problem and how to test, and repair your household equipment.

Dryer hums but won't tumble. I can manually turn

most likely motor will need to be replaced if you do repair try to remove blower wheel first you will need a 1/2" rachet and a 7/8 for the motor to hold motor in place you may need to replace also they will lock together some times

Kenmore dryer help?

Sounds like motor is stalled. Remove the lint filter, look inside down toward the bottom left corner at the blower wheel. Something may be jammed in the blower wheel. If difficult to see, TURN OFF POWER TO MACHINE, remove bottom access panel. 2 to 3 screws on bottom of panel. Remove lint housing (3 to 4 screws) and inspect blower wheel for debris.

beckerkim, you have one of two things going here, either your blower wheel has something jammed in it or it's broken or the motor itself is shot. Check the blower wheel first make sure it's ok. You also may want to check the drum rollers to make sure they are not seized up. Catriver...post back.
