I was using an Acer P201W with my G% Powermac. It worked fine for almost a month. Now all of the sudden it has hundreds of small blue vertical hashmarks all over the screen. When I bought the thing there were no notes on the box that it was not compatable with Mac. I tried to get on the Acer website to download a driver for a Mac and there are NONE!!! I thought I was getting a deal by buying a genaric type monitor and I guess I found out that when you pay less you get less :(

Time to replace sorry
The chips that display the colours and pixels may have had some damage when moving or
the age of the unit may also be the cause, either way the unit might now be a paperweight,

There are moving lines from up to down (it is like flickering) continuously during the monitor work

boot to bios and check if the lines can be seen. if the lines are visible, you have a faulty LCD. if not, update the display driver or graphics driver.

There is horizontal lines come in screen moving upward why is that happening its only 1 year old

This is 2008 model year. You need to open it and look inside to see if you do have bad DC filter caps with leaking/bulging tops, this happen after about 2 years.
See pictures of bad caps and failed SAMSUNG monitor due to bad caps here:

My acer al1716 has been showing 2 horizontal lines from the middle of the screen to the top after changing the video card to a nvidia geforce9400 GT. how can i get rid of these lines?

It sounds like a connection problem, if i understand this right. So, you either need a new monitor, but check your input connection to the computer, see if it's in all the way. And your gonna need a new monitor range from 200-400 for the 20" range. Good luck!!!

Garbled color

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new monitor.
