SOURCE: Haier HLH42 wall mounted 2 years old No sound.

Strange, and the DVD is also attached through HDMI then it sounds like, correct? Have you tried switching the ports that the Cable Box and DVD are using on the switch, to see if possibly the port in the switch has gone bad? The good news is it is not the TV causing the issue, it could be just the cable box itself has a failing HDMI output on it.. I've seen this happen numerous times. Most cable companies will just replace the box at no charge... but make sure it isn't the switch, and I suggest you try swapping the cables that the cable box and dvd player are using...

Better yet, just unplug the HDMI cable from the DVD box, unplug the HDMI cable from the Cable Box, and plug the DVD's HDMI cable into the cable box and see if it works... If so it could be just a bad cable, or a bad port on that switch as previously mentioned. If it does work, then try putting the DVD on the other port of your switch and verify...

Something tells me it is the Cable box itself though.

Between all these things you should definitely be able to find out the issue.

Thanks
Tim

SOURCE: 22" Haier LCD/LED TV -

When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me.

1.Put your PS3 on standby.
2. Unplug the power lead.
3. Connect HDMI cable to HDMI out on PS3 and HDMI in on TV
4. Connect PS3 so that the red standby light is showing
5. Hold down the On/Off button until you hear a second beep. The PS3 will try and detect the display output settings on your monitor.

How to fix issues whith component outputs on haier hlh26atbb 26 in. lcd ?

When you make the connection with HDMI are you changing the source or input key on the television to activate HDMI port? If you don't activate the corresponding source you connect to and leave the TV in the TV mode, you won't actually see the device you are connecting. It's possible the TV does not support the 1080P from your PS3.

JVC LT-32DS75SJ issue with HDMI

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

Ps3 using digital optical and hdmi cables together

There is a conflict in the fact that HDMI gives you the digital surround sound without the need for the optical lead and when you allocate the optical for the sound thats when the conflict starts, you can only use one or the other.
