Re: Over partitioned

I think the only way you can get rid of is to reformat your other partitioned disk..use your installer to execute them.ok? but before you that, make sure you have backed up some of your vital datas you have.ok?

Reset Acer Aspire X3200 To Factory Setting

Assuming the restore partition is intact, boot the machine and press and hold F10 and ALT at the same time. If the partition is intact, you should be brought to a restore menu and given the option to restore to factory settings. If this doesn't work, you may have corrupted the restore partition and will need disks to install an operating system. If you created Rescue Disks in Vista, simply load the 1st disk and reboot.

Win 98 recovery used instead of win xp sp2. computer won't start, shows win 98 screen and stops

win XP will not use anything from a win98 program. If XP is installed you must either use the recovery discs or better, the original XP disc.

My computer runs windows 98 and i need to upgrade it to windows millennium for free, it runs really slow and you can barely see the pictures because the person I got it off of tried to download xp and it...

1st try the following, if u still get problem, plz do post comment, i/we'll answer:

ur system is too back n out dated..howevr, it'll support Win XP Pro SP2..try download it from torrent site (like or so on), using any bit torrent client (eg. utorrent)..make a boot cd n install it..

after u installed it, plz follow the instructions below:
increase thevirtual memory size: open 'Run'->type"sysdm.cpl"->clickon 'Advanced' tab->click open 'Settings submit buttonunder Performance->click on 'Advanced' tab->here u'll find'Virtual Memory' settings->click open 'Change' submit button inhere->type the 'Initial Size (MB): 1440'; Maximum Size(MB):2880'..->click 'Set' submit button->pressOK->OK->Cancel..->now restart the pc..

hv a licensed and UPDATED antivirus installed (i prefer avg/kaspersky, , without updation a full version antivirus is useless)..
download, install n run microsoft kb890830..
download n run Startup Control Panel..'remove all the unnecessarystartup items from here..(if u can't find what to remove, post me/us inur comment with all the items listed in each n every tabs herein)..
remove all unnecessary software from add/remove programs..
download, install n run 'Advanced System Care Pro'..

alsocheck the ram(s) it/them, rub itz teeth gently with a eraser, toremove any oxide and or carbon formed..resit them again into theslot(s)..

for better professional supervision, do contact ur system admin/vendor....

Dual boot prob

boot to win98 operating system. Insert the XP operating CD. IT will automatically open a window asking you to select Install winXP prof. It will ask for new installation and Upgrade (recommended)

select upgrade and select next and follow the instructions. it will restart and ask you select the os.
select xp in blue screen. install the OS other than C Drive.

please don't ever install in c drive.. do with caution.

Win xp instalation

Make a windows 98 startup disk by downloading it from here . Once you haver done that turn off the acerpower insert the disk and turn it on (make sure its set to boot from floppy disks in bios setup) Choose the option start computer with cd rom support. Now after about 1 minute youy should see a:\. Type in a:\fdisk and then choose yes and then create a partiossion using the prompts given . Once you have done that and its finished it should say you must restart this computer so restart it. Then boot from the floppy disk again and when it coms to a: type FORMAT C: and then press y. Once its done take the floppy disk put and restart your computer with the windows xp disk in and it should start installling windows xp.

Windows 98 is not opening

You need to re-install Windows 98, and this time, you should do it on a separate hard disk partition.

IBM Netvista 6059 - Can't upgrade to windows XP

Right well XP Pro really MUST be formatted with NTFS only... I suggest you get a third party partitioning program like Partition magic and completely remove the partition & redo it all again & this time Format NTFS. Or if ya have a WIN98 boot disk, and ya can use FDISK, Delete ALL partitions, and remake them again, using all the disk space, then format as NTFS, then proceed as below Then using your windows XP PRO setup Disk, start the install ...then when asked about where you want the install located, select C & REFORMAT it AGAIN with the windows setup using again NTFS file system... this should finish & then the Install should "see" your entire hard drive and format it accordingly and then when finished you can proceede to install XP.
