Nikon N60 35mm camera error code FEE

Hello:

My N60 which had been working fine is now displaying error code FEE in all modes.

Anybody have an idea what the problem might be?

Thanks

Thanks for the solution suggestion. Unfortunately, I tried that. The instruction manual says to set the lens to f22 and lock it mount it to the camera and then turn it on.

I followed those steps and it still didn't work. I have been using this on my Nikon digital camera and everything works fine there, so I'm really puzzled.

    Again thanks for your reply.

Check your lens aperture ring setting. It must be set on the highest number I.E. f16,f22,f32..

While looking at the camera front with the lens off, you will see a small tab sticking out just on the outside of the mount ring at about 7 oclock.

You should be able to move the tab down with your finger and it should snap back. If it is loose or doesn't snap back, it will need repaired/replaced

D90 wont shoot in auto mode. gives me r21 error. Manual mode works fine

Did you switch the Focus-mode selector to MF?
It is the switch with number 8. Perhaps you are used to switching on the lens, but on the body is also a switch. Normaly used for the older AF lenses.

Fee error on d300 with Sigma lens with aperture ring

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and then forget it's there. You can control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on lenses without an aperture ring.

What does FEE mean? The camera won't take a picture and I see that in the display of my Nikon N90S

FEE error message displayed on SLR camera LCD Description If the cameras LCD screen displays "FEE" in the area where the aperture is normally displayed, please ensure that the lens is attached to the camera correctly. This error message will appear if the lens is not attached correctly to the camera or if you are not using a CPU lens such as the Nikon AF or Nikkor P lenses. Alternatively, if the lens has an aperture ring, it may not be set to f22 (or the highest aperture number on the aperture ring - normally marked in orange). Select the aperture number marked in orange on the lens and lock it using the aperture locking switch to prevent this occurring again.

The FEE error message

Set to F22, or the highest aperture number - normally marked in orange. Note the locking switch.
If the above did not resolve the problem and you still experence the the error display FEE, please contact your local Nikon office. Before doing so please also check the following.

1157d.gif That the EE servo coupling highlighted above on the lenses has not been broken. That the F-min switch highlighted above on the camera body has not been broken. If either of the two items above are broken please contact your local Nikon service center.

FEE error code on nikon d80

To solve this all you need to do is turn the lens' aperture ring (the one nearest the camera body) to the smallest number (probably 22 or 32).

Nikon d200 sprayed with water

I would suggest that you give the contacts a good clean (gently of course) on both the camera body and lens'.

Also although the water would make no difference, make sure if you have any lens' with aperture rings to put them round to F33 or the smallest aperture, if they aren't this will cause the fEE.

Hope this helps
