Question about Frigidaire GLTF2940ES Front Load Washer

2 Answers

Frigidaire GLTF2940ES0 Seems to drain but will not spin. We ran diagnostic test and got code E5E which is a communicationproblem and to check the wiring between the control board and the speed control board. We know where control board is but cannot find a diagram with the speed control board listed.

Thanks for the help. Once we located the speed control board we noticed there was a wire unhooked. That fixed the problem.

We were getting ready to order a control board, you saved us alot. Thanks so much for the help.

I have the same problem except two broken shocks. tested everything according to the electrical test sheet that was hidden under the front panel. error code E5E shows up. Wiring seems to be ok between the top control board and the speed control next to motor. Motor tested out ok. Do not understand how to test the door lock and door safety switch. I have checked on a new control board and it is $125.00 but no one has one in stock. Most of the components on this machine is from Mexico or China the motor control is a Magnetek made in China. Called a technician and he does not have any means to check the components. I can swap parts as good as they can, if I can find an inexpensive place to buy parts.

I could hear the washer drain but it would not spin. The timer continued to count down to 1 minute and got stuck there. I cancelled the cycle and removed the wet clothes. I new something was wrong but just to see if it was a one time deal I tried to run a new cycle. I basically sounded like it tried to start but nothing futher happened. I ran a diagnostic and got what I though was ESE but after reading this page it was probably E5E. Can someone help.

Remove the bottom panel will find a tech sheet there with more specific instructions and the speed control bd is under the tub on the left hand side unplugged the unit before checking and the door lock is part of the com system turn the washer and see if the door lock light comes on try to open the door with the light on if you can that's where the problem is

How do you fix an e5e communication error on a frigidaire washing machine?

Hey friend, thanks for your inquiry!

I see your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code "e5e". However, it appears "e5e" is an invalid error code. Let's attempt resetting your range. You can do this by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position for roughly ten minutes. This usually clears false error codes.

If resetting the power does not correct the issue, could you please inform me of the new error code or if your dishwasher continues to display "e5e" you may want to seek assistance from a professional for proper repairs. -Matt

Run diagnostic test gltf2940es0

if the drain pump is bad or clogged and can't drain the water it won't spin until water is drained.pump number 137221600,it's around 110 dollars, but first get a shop vac, pull out the drain hose from the washer and connect the shop vac to the hose and vac out all the water, you first have to remove the bottom front panel to get at the pump, remove the hoses going to the pump and have the vac ready to clean up any water that still might be in there, then check the pump and see if anything is in there,i've found coins that get into the pump or other debries and clean it out of the pump, then check the rubber boot on the hose, make sure nothing is in there and check the other hose, you can set the shop vac on blow and blow through the drain hose to make sure that's clear, remove any junk you find in any of the hoses and pump, reconnect the pump and hoses, put some water in then set it to drain and spin or rinse and spin,if the water drains and then it spins you're all set if not the pump could be bad,one more thing if the drum doesn't move you could just have a bad door switch, this is the easiest part to fix and i always have a door switch for frigidaire washer, remove the spring the holds the boot seal on.remove the rubber boot on the door switch side, take out the screws that hold the door switch in,and replace it,run it,if the drum starts to move then drain and spin it was the door switch, any error codes come up? good luck, have any questions let me know and hopefully i can help you

I got an error code e5e from frigidaire front loader

Hello barnessursula - Typically error code E5E indicates that there is a communication problem. Base on the intensity of the issue, I suggest contacting a professional technician to accurately repair the unit. Technician will need to check the wiring between the main control board and the speed control board. Depending on the diagnoses and if the wiring is bad, it has to be corrected. However, if the wiring is good the main control board will need to be replace or if the problem is not corrected, the speed control board will need replacing.

The washer was completing a normal cycle. Then I noticed that it had stopped at the drain/spin. It was performing a spin but stopped with a big clunk and then just sits there. I have removed all the...

possible jammed or blocked drain pump......find the pump and check it for blockages.....if you drop the hose on the ground water should run out ......

Machine will run through entire cycle and will not spin. It quits at the spin cycle. I checked the Black boot at the bottom. Removed and cleared out coins. Checked pump- it was turning freely. Reinstalled...

I had a similar problem and found out the "latch" on the washer door broke off. The machine won't run in spin cycle if the door is"open", but it would run through the wash cycle.
