Warm diesels should idle low. Some of them 800-900 revs.
At cold, they should have a fast idle, some 1100 revs.
look if your engine has a cylindrical device, with a bowden cable to the diesel distibutor pump. This will be your coldstart device, responsible for idle revs.
The radio code should be located on a sticker on the back cover of the owners manual, If the manual is not available then you will need to have the code reset by a local dealership.
