Why does cd rom not conned to my macbook?

I'm not sure about this, because I have an internal CD/DVD in my macbook. But this can be a driver issue. Do you have an Apple CD drive, or an universal USB CD drive? The last one could be very tricky, because the computer needs special drivers, so it can recognise the external drive.

The pointer jumping on the screen sounds like you may have picked up a virus. While rare, there are mac viruses. I would try to save all my data documents and any other valuable personal files or lists, then do a clean reinstall of the operating system. Then load our documents back in.
You could try to scan for a virus with a mac virus program, but not many are available for a G4 Power PC (PPC) machine.

Cd is jammed

What you can do is look for a paper clip and make it into a long pin by straightening it. Then insert it into a small pin hole which you can find on the CD Rom. Push the pin a little hard and you will find your CD Rom Tray opening up about an inch out. Now you can pull the cd tray out and take out your CD. Read more at

Hi, I m a new user of apple mac book, I m trying to insert a disk in my dvd rom but still i am not able to open my dvd player. Can u help me that how will be open the dvd rom in apple mac book? means any...

I would please like to tell you there is no button in MACBOOK to eject a tray as there is no tray.
You simply see a line on the right hand side of your laptop where you can insert a disc, u need to insert a disc into that part and when you insert it you will show you an icon on your desktop showing you the cd contents.
When you want to eject it keep in mind u need to click on the icon on your desktop and press the eject button or u can also use the keyboard and press the eject button, which will bring the disc out automatically.
Please do not worry try it, I'am sure it will work for you.
If there would be any problem and you need any help please do not hesitate to ask.
I'am also giving you a link to see the video of how to insert and eject the cd, please note this is the old model of the macbook, the only difference is that the drive is now located in the right hand side of the laptop, dont worry take a look.
Thank you.

I put a cd in my mac and it doesnt read it then it automatically ejects it

This would normally happen if you to put a DVD into CD-ROM drive, however, all MacBooks have a DVD drive so it can't be that.
Does it happen with any other CDs or is it just this one? Does the CD play in any any drive?
I had a music CD that would work in my Mac once but it was an oddilty that one of the record companies was trying to promote. It would work on a PC and in a normal CD player but not in a Mac,

3inch cd into macbook dvd rom

Since Macs are not compatible with 3' cd's the only way it could work is if you had an external cd drive. You can even get them cheap! Here is a link to one on a website. I never used this website to purchase anything but its just to show you what you might consider looking for!

I personally hate how macs are not compatible with 3 inch cds but I hope this helps you out and good luck!

PowerBook Aluminum G4 1.67GHZ

Kim,  I'm glad you asked this.  I have had problems with my superdrive as well.  What I found out through persistent research is this:     The new Superdrives can take CD+R and DVD+R.  (I am assuming you are asking about recording?   However, the older models of Superdrives ---usually found in Powerbook G4s, can take CD-R and DVD-R.  These are different from the first ones ini that they are slower to burn, and just a few gb short of space than the +.  this should help solve the problem with taking new cds and dvds for burning.  The superdrive tends to just spit these right back out.  If you are referring to playing them, then have you tried cleaning the dirty ones?  Check the help section at  they have wonderful solutions.  Try to put in a couple new cds or dvds to play.  Open up itunes or the dvd player before you put the disks in.  If you're still having trouble, make use of that warranty and go to your nearest apple store to fix it right up! Hope this helps!

Dvd rom problems with my macbook

Does the computer immediately return the discs after they're inserted or do you have to manually eject them? If it's trying to read the discs then there could be a problem with the type of disc. However if it just ejects the disc immediately, there could be a recognition problem. So, if your computer doesn't recognize that a disc is in the drive, you can check several things. 1. Check to see that the computer actually reads DVDs. To do this, open the System Profiler in the Utilities folder. Click on ATA/Devices and Volumes/Disc Burning. Those are three different options but each will tell you if the drive actually does run DVDs. If it shows DVDRW or DVD, but if it only shows CD or CD-RW, then it won't play a DVD. 2. If it shows that it accepts DVDs through the System Profiler, then you'll need to check to see if the actual drive is attached. You can open your computer through the battery with a screw driver. Once open, you'll need to check the connecting cable to the drive. If it's attached properly/securely, you may need to take it to a technician. The drive me be malfunctioning and need professional repair.
