Hi, Do you have experiance with canon software upload and disk issues?
To upload system software, system language and format you need canon's service support tool and PC with Centronic interface. There is catch for HDD type and you need to write the HDD's serial number in Service support tool database ( THESE IS ONLY DONE IF YOU CHANGE THE HDD WITH NOT CANON ONE ).
Troubleshooting the camera displaying Communication Error when connected to the computer via USB.
If the camera displays "Communication Error," when trying to download images the main cause for this error is that there are more than 1000 images stored on the memory card. It is recommended if there are more than 1000 images on the memory card, that you use a card reader to acquire the images, or to delete images off of the memory so that there are less than 1000 images to download from the memory card.
If this is not the case, there are not 1000 or more images on the memory card, try reconnecting the camera to abnother port on the computer, try another cable or another computer. This error can also display when connecting to a direct print printer. Please check with the printer manufacturer for more information on this error.
If you are talking about downloading the still images recorded on the SD card, you can find drivers for Windows up to Windows 2000 here. (Windows XP and Windows Vista are not supported.) The best thing to do would be to get an SD card reader and upload your still images directly from the card to the computer -- no driver required.
If you are talking about downloading video, that is done through Firewire. The only driver needed is the one that supports the firewire card on your computer.
first thing, you have to have the camera in playback (The way to view images on the camera) ((If the lens goes out you have i wrong)) If you have XP / Vista it will come up in my computer and you can copy and past images / videos from it that way. Else Scanner n camera wizzard in XP will pull images off
if you are using a cpmputer that has photo imaging software installed then you should be getting a prompt to choose what software you need to view photos with, or you should have received a cd rom from the manfacture to upload them to your computer afterwards you can use picassa from google to set them in photos ablums ect good luck
Uninstall and reinstall the Canon's software. Something may have gotten corrupted. This is the simplest and fastest thing .
If that does not work, think if you need Canon's software - you can browse to the Canon directory under "My Computer" (or whatever you computer's name is), and copy the JPG files from under there.
