Hello,
I have a model L2 and a laptop with windows vista. I am not able to turn on the online writing function. It appears to be permanently on the tablet-PC mode thus disabling the online writing mode. What do I do?

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Wireless on toshiba tecra l2 quit working for no apparent reason. tried everything but installing new drivers. any ideas besides new drivers?

Try installing the latest wireless driver.
You can download any orall the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from theToshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model ofyour laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Philips driver reads dvd and cd discs but won't write to dvd disc. Philips driver model no DVDR1628K/00. 1,7ghz Celeron, 768 Mb ram. Nero software. Was writing for years. I tried Infraexpress.

Hi rossw8:

You can find the most current drivers for your DVDR here:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?tmplt=ePlatform%20-%20Philips&scy=CH&slg=ENG&sct=INTERNAL_OPTIC_DRIVES_SU&cat=DRIVERS_AND_STORAGE_CA&session=20101224171044_205.193.94.40&grp=PC_AND_PHONES_GR&ctn=DVDR1628K/00&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

If you are rubbing Windows Vista or Windows 7 you shlopw be aware that the supplied software ("Nero Essentials") is not compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Windows Vista already includes its own standard built in functionality to burn your CD. You do not need additional software to burn CD's. For burning DVD the Internet currently offers alternative software which is free and offers similar functionality (like Nero 9 Lite).

Windows 7 already includes its own standard built in functionality to burn your CD/ DVD. You do not need additional software for that. However, the Internet currently offers alternative software which is free and offers similar functionality (like Nero 9 Lite).

Trust this is helpful. Please vote.

I have HP dv6701au laptop. previously it was loaded with Vista, but now i have installed XP. The problem is that i can't get the appropriate drivers for my laptop. i had already asked the same from HP...

Before downgrading from Windows Vista to Windows XP you should always confer with your computer's manufacturers website to look up your model and see if they support the downgrade. Often times the only way for you to downgrade is to have it done before receiving the computer, since a majority of the hardware on the laptop is made specifically for Vista and is not backwards compatible. Looking on the HP website, I see that they only offer a very limited number of Windows XP drivers for your system, which tells us that downgrading is not possible.
I would recommend that you consider not downgrading but rather upgrading to Windows 7 as it is a much more stable and functional OS than its predecessor Windows Vista. You can even run Windows 7 in Windows XP compatibility mode so you can enjoy the benefits and upgrade of Windows 7 but still have the Windows XP feel and functionality. I will be writing a How-To/Tip on Windows XP Compatibility mode today so you can be on the lookout for more information on that.

Hello,
You would have to go to your manufacturer's website and obtain appropriate windows vista sound drivers for your model.

All the best.

I formatted my laptop wit Windows vista, It doesnt

if you formatted it then your probably going to have to get online via another computer, or a wifi connection if you have the drivers for it, and download the drivers, then install them to your laptop. By (re)installing vista (unless of course your using a recovery cd for that exact model) you ended up with nothing more then the basic OS with the absolute basic drivers.

Ages of Empires II will not work on Vista on my laptop

All this bit is irrelevant

"Age of Empires II has stopped working" then in smaller writing it says "Windows can check online for a solution to the problem" it then gives me the choice of checking online or closing the program, I click the "Check online for a solution and close the program" option, it then comes up with another window telling me "Windows is looking for a solution for the problem"

This is just a message saying Winderz has no idea what is going on and doesn't know how to fix.

Vista is the pits. You need Windows 7 at least. Is this Age of Empires a bootleg copy on DVD or CD by any chance? The disc is corrupt.

Have the drivers been updated for Visioneer Onetouch 8920 scanner

Below is a link to the list  of the only scanners that VISIONEER has written a Vista driver for(and not likly to write any more for former scaners.)  Your model in not on that list. Unless, for some reason , they decide to write a Vista driver, you will never bve ableo to use that scanner with the Vista  OS. No one else will ever write one either.     Please don't rate me badly for telling the whole truth even thought you may not like it.  http://support.visioneer.com/products/tools/os/vista.asp

The below link is where I took the followign from:
http://support.visioneer.com/UK/products/tools/OS/
As Microsoft continues to release new versions of it's Windows Operating System, the requirements for peripherals and software change. Visioneer scanners are designed to leverage the tools and features included with the operating systems that are current when products are released. When feasible, we develop scanner drivers for new versions of Windows. On the day Windows XP was released, Visioneer had more scanners qualified to wear the Designed for Windows XP logo than any other scanner maker. In spite of our best efforts, major changes in the underlying architecture of Windows XP make it impossible to write new drivers for many of our older model scanners.   Visioneer posts the last release of drivers on each Product's Homepage and provides online support for older products. Scanners designed to work with older versions of Windows may not function properly after upgrading your computer's operating system.   We offer an industry leading upgrade program, giving a 25% discount from our online scanner store for customers that return their old unit to ensure proper disposal as part of our environmental recycling program. For details visit Visioneer's Trade Up Offer.

Online writing function for Digimemo L2 doesn't work

This is what worked for us: After you click on "run as administrator", you return to the online page and click on the online writing icon.
This immediately synchronizes the paper on the pad and the online page.
Also, you will notice that you can't use the digital pen to click commands in the program when the online writing icon is activated. However, you can still use your mouse or touch pad to click on commands. So, you do have to go back and forth between the pen and the touch pad when the online writing icon is activated.
Hope this helps.
