I had this same problem, check the power transistors attached to the heat sink near the large caps, they tend to get cold solder joints after lots of heating and cooling. 15 minutes and good soldering iron will probably make a huge difference. I added extra cooling fins to mine to help dissipate the heat. hopefully wont go bad real soon again. Also check the large caps while your in there, maybe a good time.

Distortion in speakers when i turn the tuner knob it hits some hard spots they quits

Turn the stereo off, then quickly turn the volume knob back and forth for about a minute to get rid of most of the grime that is causing the static. Then turn it back on. if that doesn't work...

You can try cleaning out the potentiometer.

If that still doesn't work. replace the potentiometer

Sudden static

Try some standards -- unplug EVERYTHING, and use the headphone out jack first. After 2-3 minutes, and it's still crackle or buzz, then it may be something wrong with the internals. Could be simple, but may be more than what the unit's worth to fix. If it DOES NOT crackle/buzz, then you might have a bad connection/cable somewhere. Just plug them all back in, one-at-a-time, and wait in between plugging in. Best of luck!

My bose mini soundlink has a static sound which has started to occur after it is playoing for several minutes

The reason mine crackled seems to be because it was on very high volume (on the speaker) but my computer was on low volume. Hope this helps,

Nakamichi mini speaker has crackling noise as soon it is switched on

check

the speaker plug/outlets is usually at the back of the computer or if its a laptop on the side

you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line or use a can of compressed air specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit

dust causes static to build up in a computer

hope this helps

I have been experiencing static noise/crackling from my front left and right speakers just recently. (I have a 5.1 dell system - the front center - attached to the monitor and rear speakers do not emit...

This seems like at cables have gone bad or either the connections in the speakers went bad. Its best to replace them unless you know how to disassemble and re-soder the connections.

After a few minutes of playing a cd or the radio, the speakers make a thumping/crackle noise and the music stops. The stereo stays on. Just stops playing music. Any ideas?

Hello

OK, this is just a suggestion, without analysing the unit myself.

From my experience with these type of units, it is usually overheating of the IC's on the circuit board.
You can do another test just to double check. Turn the unit off, unplug it from the wall supply for about 10 minutes. Then plug the unit back in and turn it on. Now turn the volume very high, without the speakers starting to distorted, where you can still hear a clear sound.

Now, if this is an IC overheating, the sound should start distorting and cutting out. This is actually a very common occurrence with these types of players as well as receivers in general.

Try the above, let me know what happens.

Also, please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea

No clean air smell/crackling & static

To stop the crackling sound, you need to remove all of the dust particles from the wire in the back. Sometimes when the unit is extremely dirty you can see sparks emanating from the wire, this is what causes the crackling sound. The unit has a built in cleaner you can lift up and down to perform this task, located on the top, but this doesn't work extremely well.

I usually take a can of compressed air and blow as much of the dust I can off the wire and all surrounding internal areas as I can. This along with a thorough cleaning of the blades should eliminate the crackling noise. Of course, make sure the device is unplugged before performing any cleaning.

Not sure about the smell though. Mine has started to smell a little strange and I haven't figured out how to fix that problem.

Static from right from speaker

The noise is in the pre-amp stages of the Denon AVR. It might be caused by bad capacitors.
