The board may not support that cpu ,or you may try resetting the coms or update the bios

Need a replacement processor for Intel i7 920?

Motherboard chipset = Intel X58

I'd say go with an Intel Core i7 model 940.
2.93GHz maximum frequency rate. ('Speed')

Just from a quick search. Any where else they're about 6 bills.
Here I saw some examples for a bill and a half.

FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions.

Display not working

Hi! My name is Mace and I'm here to help you.

Are you using the built in video card or you are using a pci video card.

Assuming you are using a built in video card. Check the CMOS setup and make sure the video card is enabled.

Assuming you are using a pci video card. Try to disconnect it from the motherboard and reseat it properly. Better check also that the built in video card is disabled in your CMOS setup. And that you installed the driver if its not plug and play. Check also if the vga cable is properly connected to both the video card and the monitor.

Please post back if you still have some questions.

I hope this information will help you.
Thank you for using Fixya.

Most of the time you can find that info on the manufactures web sit. Also on most, but not all there is very small letters printed on the motherboard that can help you figure it out.

Computer Freezing

I have built several gaming computers and if I had your problem, the first thing I would try is to add a stick of memory. Then I would get me a graphics card with some memory built on the board (256 meg). You motherboard should run a pci graphics card with no problem.
