Black screen in center of tv I also have a black box on my screen..no original remote..our universal remote doens't have a cc button..but as we went into the main menu of the tv manually, under the cc option it only gives you: cc or cc2, nowhere to turn off..what to do??
If the tv is an LG with built in sky then the tv is faulty.

A friend told me to hold the power and menu button at the same time for about 30 seconds and that it should reset the tv....worked like a charm! Thanks.
While we are watching the telelvision a small black square ( about a 2x2 inch square) appears near the bottom of the screen. Slowly, the square turns into an L shape, then a rectangle, until finally stopping filling the center of the screen with a solid black box. The perimeter of the screen shows the picture of what was being viewed. On occasion a series of letters or symbols appear in the box, but this does not hapen every time.
Turning the tv off and then on, or choosing the Menu button on the remote causes the box to disappear, while changing channels does not. We have checked the closed captioning option which was already set in the off position?? We are waiting to see if the problem continues to occur. Please help!?
