Leaving an mP3 player in your pocket won't hurt it. Direct sunlight for 30 min might kill it. A pass through the washer certainly will damage it. Moisture, such as with heavy exercise, with the unit in your pocket may cause it to fail. Moisture is a problem.
i had the same problem try resetting it by slideing the power switch to the on position and hold it there for 10 to 30 seconds until it turns on then let go. that should sove you'r problem
Probably a hardware issue that requires replacment, but: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Try connecting it without the battery. If it shows up, format it.
To format My Computer>Device Name>Right Click and select FORMAT.
Please add to the question if that didnt work.
Best of Luck.
some of these mp3 players use the headphone wiring as the antenna...are you pugged in?
also try removing the batteries for 30 minutes, and then restarting
These are notorious for dying in many ways like yours. The symptoms are a bit off, but just go out and the solution is to buy a new one!
Problem solved!
In the mean time, try bending the usb plug a bit towards the side with larger holes, and also try pushing the device in the center with some firm pressure. This has a history of restoring the broken connections a bit!
Check the battery voltage if its below 3volts then you will have to rejuvenate it to its original voltage it will work.
Or try to leave it on the charger for a day or so.
