Question about Janome Memory Craft 9000 Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Loose stitches every 1

Hi. I have a Janome, Memory Craft 6600. The stitches look fine on the right side but on the back every 1" the stitches are all jumbled up and when you examine a little closer you can see that where they are jumbled up the stitching is loose. Any suggestions. I have tried cleaning, changing bobbin thread, new needle, changed tension...
Thanks!

This machine is VERY touchy about bobbins. I found when I bought generic bobbins I would have this problem. Janome bobbins have a thin, straight top and bottom, while generic or Singer bobbins have avery slight curve to the top and bottom. The bobbin will fit, but you run into the problem with loose stitches.

I've also had this problem when the bobbin thred is not properly in the bobbin hook. Take the bobbin out, re-thread it in the hook, and try again.

Test it out on 2 pieces of material by rotating the wheele by hand. pay close attention to the 1" area. when you turn it by hand you can feel the area of question. is your bobbin spooled correctly. if all fails read the directions.

Janome Memory Craft 8000... the feed dogs run backwards and with little motion and the back button has no affect. The stitch length button has no affect either. What can be done to fix the problem?

This is one of the much older (circa 1980s) Memory Craft machines. Your best bet is to have a technician look at it and see if an overhaul/repair would be more cost-effective than a newer machine.

My machine is skipping stitches i have dusted it, rethreaded it, changed the needle and still it skips

try these suggestions and see if they help
Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly

I am having trouble with applique on a memory craft janome 4800.

Upper thread breaks
needle may be in backwards
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
upper tension may be to tight
the needle may be bent or damaged
thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint
check for burrs on the needle plate & on the bobbin case

I've forgotten how to drop the feed dogs-can you help

There is a little lever on the back of the free arm at the bottom. Push the lever to the right and that will lower the feed dog.

The sewing advisor screen on a Janome 8000 is getting dim.

When your Memory Craft 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine.
Janome no longer stock this item direct, but there is an affordable replacement available.

Full Access and Installation instructions are provided, so you can DIY or have someone else do the replacement for you.

Check this Link

Also includes advice, links & contacts to be able to Reset your screen and do a Self Diagnosis Routine to test your machine BEFORE you purchase a replacement LCD backlight for either the Janome MC 8000 or MC 5700, so you can check that there are no other troubles.
