My fax machine will send a fax, but I can't receive a fax?

The fax machine may be in secure receiving mode. The following is from the User's Manual section on Faxing. downloadcenter samsung com

Receiving in secure receiving mode

You may need to prevent your received faxes from being accessed by unauthorized people. You can turn on secure receiving mode to restrict printing of received faxes when the machine is unattended. In secure receiving mode, all incoming faxes go into memory. When the mode is deactivated, any stored faxes are printed.

Activating secure receiving mode

  1. Press btn_fax.png(Fax) on the control panel.

  2. Press Menu until Advanced Fax appear.

  3. Press the left/right arrow until Secure Receive appear and press OK.

  4. Press the left/right arrow until On appear and press OK.

  5. Enter a four-digit password you want to use and press OK.

You can activate secure receiving mode without setting a password, but cannot protect your faxes.

  6. Re-enter the password to confirm it and press OK.

  7. Press Stop/Clear to return to ready mode.

When a fax is received in secure receiving mode, your machine stores it in memory and shows Secure Receive to let you know that there is a fax received.

Why is my fax not working all of the sudden?

Perhaps the Fax (phone) line is dead or disconnected. Can you hear any dial tone?

If not, ring the Telco

Machine is saying "output tray full" no faxes

Open the fax. There is a small door that allows access to the fuser for jams. There is a little black tab to the right on the door. Reseat it so it is level and pivots freely. Close up machine should start faxing. This tab is a flag for a photointerupter. Is easily knocked out nof place.

Don't know if it's a quality problem, but my 575 didn't print a confirmation of fax sent. Is this the way this machine works? Or is there a setting I missed during set up?

99% of faxes have a setting for printing a report after every transmission, only after an unsuccessful transmission.

In your case you need to:
Press Menu/Set
Press 7
Press 1
Use up/down arrows to select "ON"
Press Menu/Set
Press Stop/Exit

You will now get a report on every fax sent.

HP LaserJet M1522nf MFP No Fax detected

The book says
No fax detected
The product answered the incoming call but
did not detect that a fax machine was calling.
This could be really tricky. The missed faxes could be just random wrong number or recorded sales calls that are dialing you machine.
If you are sure they are fax machines calling then we get into phone line issues and that sort of thing. If you get static or noise on the line it can affect your machines ability to hear the other machine. I saw somewhere tha replceing the cord form the wall to the fax helped some people with a similar problem.
You can always try turning the machine off and unplugging it for awhile this is a common suggetion from HP for almost any product with a problem.
Hope this helps

Document stock in the memory

Go to control panel-> printers and faxes-> double click on faxes option-> it will open up all the tasks in the work que.

Also, there would be an option on your printer to access the fax memory.

Please ask for further clarifications.
