The shading alignment is a software alignment fix and unplugging the unit will solve this problem. You will have to do a software shading alignment to correct your problem. I've lost my notes while moving and I can't give you the procedure for doing this.I hope this helps a little.

Sorry, I meant to say that unplugging the unit "will not" correct this problem. You need to perform a shading alignment.

I have a windows 8 64 bit laptop. The thing is that whenever I tried to mount an iso file,it throws me the following error: PowerISO Virtual Drive is not installed correctly. Please reinstall it.(Error...

I had a Power ISO malware recently. You might want to run a scan. If it turns up clean, uninstall Power ISO and download a new one directly from their site. Or better yet, try something different. A portable app. like WINCDEmu.

"I get an error "Error in the back shading motor (4431) and the scanner stops. How can I fix it?

This error can be caused by a mechanical problem during the return of the shade. After many attempts, problem was fixed cutting both springs from pressure roll behind reading unit. The amount of spring removed changed from machine to machine. I cut 1 quarter of turn from spring and test the scanner. Procedure was repeated until problem was fixed. In worst scenario 2 turns were cutted. Be aware that cutting these springs will affect the scanned image quality.

My canon photocopier ir3170 is indicating e255-001,what fault do we have

Hello,
you probably got the E225-001 error because the error that you say is not in the manual.
E225 CIS light intensity error.
At time of power-on or at the start of a job, the machine cannot find out whether the lamp has gone on normally for shading correction.
You must call a tech to verify the scanning lamp (xenon tube), CIS, inverter PCB, and reader controller PCB.

I have a Sharp AR-336 with an error code of E7-11. How do I turn this error message off?

The E7 can not be "turned off". This error usually indicates a bad laser unit or "shading" problems. You could try cleaning all the glass/mirror components including the white shading strip under the glass - it may help.
Probably need a new laser.

E7 problem

E7 codes deal with the optical scanner unit and or the laser unit. It could also be the lamp in the scanner unit. The E7 is the main code. There is a sub code associated with it. To view the sub code hold down the start button. Below is a list of specific codes and their meanings:
E7-02: LSU trouble
E7-10: Shading trouble (Black Correction)
E7-11: Shading trouble (White Correction)
E7-12: Shading Trouble
E7-16: Abnormal laser output
If it is a laser (LSU) issue then the LSU may need replacing.
If it is a shading error the first step is to remove the platen glass carefully (with the power off because the inverter board). There is a thin white strip on the bottom side of the platen next to the slit glass. Clean this white strip with a soft cloth and a small amout of isopropyl alcohol.
Dust on the optics can also cause shading reference errors so gently blow off the mirrors with canned air.
Perform the following key procedure to reset error:
"#" key, Interrupt key, "C" key, Interrupt key
"1" key, "4"key
Start key, "CA" key.
See if unit cycles and comes back up. If not turn off and then back on the main power.
If error reappears on site technical service may be required.

Error Message-- Error in shading position (-4431)

The issue at hand here is a sensor error. Cut the power to the machine for at least five seconds. Then reboot the scanner and the sensors should reboot. This solved the problem for us. Good luck to you.
