Re: wireless adabter

Is there a switch on the side of front of the machine to turn off the wireless? Make sure it is set to on. They put a switch there so that you can turn off the wireless to use the system on a plan or anywhere where wireless is forbiden.

My wireless net work card has stopped becauce acompatible driver isn,t available for my version my dell wireless is 1395 wlan

You may need to physically connect your computer to your router and go out to Dell and reload the driver.

Once you are connected, go to the following: and click on the Home User Support, then click on Drivers and Downloads. Then click on Enter a Tag. Your Service Tag Number is listed on a white strip under your laptop. Enter that number. If you can't find it, to the right is a line that says 'Find My Service Tag'. Click on that and follow the prompts. Dell will attempt to download a small program that will allow them to identify your computer and your hardware. When you get to the screen that shows your computer, just scroll down and look for your particular Wireless Driver. Since you know it is a 1395, download that. Don't attempt to download any other driver, as this may cause a serious problem and you won't be able to recover from it.

After the driver has loaded, reboot and attempt to reconfigure the wireless device in your laptop to your network. That should take care of your issue.

Hope that helps.

Everytime I try to connect using the WUSB54GSC it

You need to Update the Drivers for your Wireless Adapter...Download the Drivers from here

After downloading the drivers you need to unzip the file...After you unzip the file you should un-install the adapter drivers/software from Programs menu...Leave the adapter connected to the PC and reboot your computer...Once the computer is rebooted you should see a message "Found new Hardware"...Select the option Install it from a specific location and click Next, then select Include this location in Search and browse to the place where you have unzipped all the files and select the Driver folder and click O.k...Then click Next and it should install the adapter drivers...

NOTE : This installation doesn't install the software(Linksys Monitor)...

Once the Adapter is installed, Click on the Start button >>> Control Panel >>> Network Connections- Right click on the "Wireless Network Connection" icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks"- If you see your wireless network in the list, highlight it by 'single' clicking on it- Now click on the 'Connect' button below- If your wireless network is secured, it would ask you to provide the network key- Provide the wireless network key and confirm it again in the confirmation box and click "Connect"...It should connect to your Network and Internet...

Compaq wireless lan w200
Here is the SP29156 that includes W200 drivers.
1. Delete the W200 in the device manager.
2. With the computer turned off, remove the W200 from the cover mounting( 1 screw).
3. Reboot with the W200 removed. Reinstall the Sp29156 Drivers to the system.
4. Reboot the system twice, with the W200 UNINSTALLED. Shutdown system.
5. Now replace the W200 in it's mounting area and secure with screw.
6. Now, reboot the system, it should again recognize PNP-new hardware and install itself with the correct IRQ's and drivers.
7. Save SP29156 in a safe place for use at a later date if needed.
8. Enjoy your now functional W200 module.
