Re: JVC KDLHX500 - doesnt let me eject. Comes with error...

I was reading through your user manual and did not see any reset p21. I did find an eject error, which may be of help.

I would first try an emergency eject. Look at page 49 of your user manual. If you do not have a user manual, here is a link to the pdf format version:

If this does not help, you can always try to do a complete system reset, which should reset it to factory specs. That is located on page 2.

Please let me know here if this helped.

No sound through the speaker. when you try to key it up, sound comes out of the hand microphone

Try a different microphone. Could have a broken /frayed wire touching on the inside at the mic plug. or it could be plugged in the wrong way. I have seen mic plugs turned upside down and forced into the socket. if this doesn't solve your problem with a different mic. problem may lie in the radio. if its a small chasis radio there are small vertical boards that get loose. these can cause issues too. you can wiggle or press on the boards and everything works again. they just need to be re=soldered. some are very small you may want to take to someone to solder .

I have a Cobra 29ltd CB with no sound coming from the internal or external speakers. So I went out and bought another Cobra 29ltd thinking that the old one was shot. Hooked up the new one and the same...

are you using the antennas that are installed thru the mirrors or the ones on the side of the truck. If you are using them you should make sure that they are connected to the coax. some just get thrown together ,antenna to mount then one end of coax to ??? so take a multi meter and set it on x1.Touch bottom of the antenna and the connector that come out of the dash. If you are connected you should get a reading. If you are not ,then you will have a problem hearing anyone because you are not connected to the antenna but the coax. If the connection is good to go then I would try running a ground wire to the chassie and maybe even a ground strap.

Hi. My Magnum Omegaforce has a hum which comes from the speaker, but only when I plug the mic in. If I put the mic down there's no hum. If I pick up the mic or put my hand near it the hum...

Sound like the radio is looking for a ground. I would tell you to take it to a good CB Shop, not all shops work on this radio so be careful and ask them first. But you're touching it or almost touching it is giving it a "False Ground" causing it to hum.

Wont change channels

First, try resetting the faceplate CPU by shorting the proper pins on the faceplate to radio connector on the back of the faceplate with a piece of wire... They are marked on the connector, if this fixes it for you, enjoy!

If that doesn't work, then remove the back cover of the faceplate and check the faceplate connector itself for bad solder joints. As a matter of fact, check the entire radio for bad solder joints before looking any further.

I bought one of these radios a short time ago; Everything worked except for LSB.

I was told by the radio shop I bought it from that I'd have to wait until June to get it fixed, so I opened it up myself to see if it was something easy to find/fix, since I felt that if it was anything major it wouldn't be able to get AM or USB either.

In my case, I found bad solder joints on the faceplate connectors and a bad solder joint on one of transistors attached to the heatsink.

Once I fixed those two things, it's been a great little radio.

Be sure to reset the faeplate after resoldering and assembling, to clear any errors from the CPU.
