Can MSI MS-6380E support radeon x1800?

http://www.legendmicro.com/store/2940_MSI-MS-6380E-010-KT3-Ultra-Socket-A-Socket-462-for-AMD-Athlon-XPDuron-Processor.lmsp

1) Motherboard uses a Socket A processor socket. Also known as Socket 462.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_A

When they switched from the Athlon single-core processors, to the Athlon 64-bit dual-core processors, they went to a completely different processor socket.

AM2,

So using the MSI MS-6380E motherboard with a dual core AMD processor = NO.

I don't seem to find an AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.8GigaHertz processor, except for a mobile version. One used for a laptop in otherwords,

Uses a Socket S1 mobile processor socket,

Pretend like I'm from Missouri, and Show Me.

Find the processor by it's AMD part number, and post the URL of the website in a Comment.

http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Venice-Single-Core-Processor/dp/B003RXLMCC

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
SINGLE-core processor, not X2.
(Socket 939 processor socket, too)

Show me the Processor, and then we can go on.

Like to replace my processor which is AMD Duron 900MHz to Motherboard Gigabyte 7VM333M-RZ. Which current processors are compatible with this board? Please advise. I want a current fast processor.

Hi, As far as I can see, this motherboard is very old, and the faster processor you could get would be around 1.8 ghz, single core. Here's the list of supported processors:
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/7VM333M-RZ.html
What I would suggest is that you buy a motherboard/cpu combo, then you could get a quad core with a recent motherboard for less than 150-200$. Of course you'd have to be willing to change your motherboard, but unfortunately, you're not gonna get a good processor with your current motherboard, and computer parts (like Ram, hard drives, video cards) are going to cost more and more for their rarety, while they are less performant.
Best of luck to you!

The AMD xp1500 processor is slow. Its need to be faster than it is. Need to know. Cheers!

If your computer has less than 512MB of RAM, then that is one "bottle-neck" that hurts your computer's overall performance.
Consider adding 512MB or 1024MB of RAM.

Or, your motherboard probably will accept other AMD processors in the "Athlon XP" line. Take your computer to a computer-store, and see if they can sell you a '2600+' or '2800+' AMD CPU that will be compatible with your motherboard. That upgrade will make your CPU almost _twice_ its current speed.

Processor update..

The problem with Store bought PCs is that there is no way to tell how fast a proccessor you can safely put into one before it becomes overclocking, but in theory your exact motherboard should support an AMD Athlon X2 5800+ 1000 Mhz FSB. Now if your willing to take a risk, you could buy a 6400+ but be warned, the computer may not recognize it, or it may just underclock the proccessor, if the processor supports 800 Mhz FSB. I said the 1000 Mhz FSB because it can underclock to that speed, and also because they no longer offer 800 Mhz flavors at the sites i order from. Hope that helps.
