Hotpoint df32 my df32 stops working during its water intake The water intakes come in 3 10 to 20 second pumpings. Its always after the second .spurt that it stops. In order to start it working again, sometimes a quick on/off of the main jkitchen water tap will start it, otherwise I have to advance the timer manually

replaced water inlet solenoid but wasted £40 as still the same .Obviously it is somehow building up a back pressure which is sometimes relieved byopening up the main sink water tap whose feed pipe is tee-d with the dishwasher supply.Soon as I turn on the kitchen tap(fawcett?) the dishwasher timer starts tickiing again and the water starts pumping in. But not every time , so have to advance the timer to get the same result

Not pumping enough water

Sounds like you have an air leak in the pump inlet. If it has worked in the past the pump is designed to lift the 12 Psi required. The other problem might be a plugged inlet line. When you remove it look at the actual pump inlet for some blockage.

Sounds like a vacuum hose leak or intake leak..Get a can of brake kleen and spray around the intake and hoses and see if the idle changes.

Dishwasher will wash but will not pump water out

There is a diverter valve that determines whether the pump re-circulates the water during the wash cycle or pumps it out to the drain during the drain cycle.

The valve is probably defective or possibly there are food particles which are preventing it from closing properly. The valve is usually built into the pump and has an electrical solenoid to open and close it. Check that the mechanical mechanism works freely and, with the bottom panel removed, check to see if the valve opens and closes when the dishwasher swtiches between the wash and drain cycle.

To check for food particles, you will probably have to disassemble the intake hoses from the pump and see if you can feel inside the pump intake for lodged food particles on the valve seal.

1999 Pontiac Grand Am with "lower intake leak"...What does this mean specifically? Would this mean the intake for the radiator, gasket, or valve?

Usually intake has to do with the induction system, as in intake manifold , The intake manifold can have several types of leaks, the intake can have a vacuum leak, oil leak, coolant leak or a combination of any of the before mentioned....hope this helps,

Is there suction at the intake? and make sure the lines aren't kinked and discharge is not restricted. If there is air in the system the pump will cavitate and not move the water. good luck

Stopped making ice

This will happen if the water intake line got frozen or clogged.
Try thawing out the freezer completely, washing the area thoroughly, then also checking to see that there isn't anything pressing on the water intake hose.
This combination has always worked for me.

Miele g841sc dishwasher leaks

Typically the machine only uses 5-6 quarts of water, If you're floor is getting 1 or 2 quarts check for a loosly connected intake or drain hose. I've never seen any overflow drain on a Miele. It only fills the bottom of the tub. The machine uses a logic program that continuously checks the level of fill and drain by water pressure weight so it always runs with proper amount, even if your intake pressure is weak. Now, If you add too much soap then the bubbles can carry a few ounces over a worn door seal. If the seal is damaged then more spray arm water can run down the front of the machine into the float pan. But after it gets less than a pint of water the drain float will start thr drain pump and shut-off the machine controls and alert you. It won't let you run the machine until the water ( and the problem) is gone. Call Miele for help.
