Thanks for trying... the fan was installed properly. On the remote there is an arrow indicating up or down. Does not matter which way the fan rotates it still DOES NOT PRODUCE WIND !!!!!

The am thinking it is because it is located in a rectangle due to the plaster ceiling I have at my house. The fan is inside a rectangle, not permitting any airflow. I think to solve the problem I will need to add the extention pipe so the fan rotates outside the rectangle.. any comments ?

"this side up" should be facing up the ceiling. And the remote should have a LCD and the downward arrow should be on.

Hampton Bay Windward II dip switches

The CODE SWITCH RECEIVER should be located in the CANOPY (the bracket hanger). !!WARNING!! YOU ARE ENTERING A HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL ZONE!!
It will be tucked in among the electrical wiring and inside the hanger bracket.

Simply pull it out and you will see the CODE SWITCHES. There are 16 CODE combinations that can be used. Both the REMOTE and the RECEIVER MUST be set with the SAME CODE.
Good luck. :)

Lost screws to attach fan blades on ceiling fan

This is not a 'promo' for Home Depot but you will find the screws there that you need.
You will need 15 screws, with an 'unfinished' appearance, for the attachment of the five blades to the arms, and 10 screws that have a smooth rounded finish to attach the arms to the motor housing. If they do not have it in stock they can order ot for you.
If you have an electrical fan store in your area you should be able to find the items there as well.
If you have an old discarded ceiling fan, take the screws out of it and try them on your current fan, they should work.
Good luck. :)

Can't figure out how to reverse the Hampton fan with the remote

I have the Hampton Bay Windward II Ceiling Fan SKU 523-127. I have replaced various parts over the years including the ballast, light shade, 9" 30 Watt Circline bulb and the remote.

Hampton Bay Windward II Ceiling Fan SKU 523-127 was sold by Home Depot, and manufactured by King of Fans.

King of Fans website is: http://www.kingoffans.com
This fan can be seen by clicking on Products --> Ceiling Fans --> Click on page 9 (at the bottom of the webpage) then click on the Windward II fan picture, then you will be able to click on Download Owner's Guide.
