Hi firemann,

The soulution to your problem. Is that you uninstall and then re-instal your printer drivers. This is becouse you might have deleted one of your files. Try this, as in most cases like this by re-installing the printer drivers does the job.

SOURCE: Error message after installing new tonner

Check the little switch/door on the left hand side of the drums.
This has worked successfully for me.

After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.

The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.

Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

try making a copy off of glass. if black mark is gone, then you have to clean the narrow strip of glass to the left of big glass.

I work at Office Depot. Bring it to one of our stores and we can look into it and diagnose it. Usually it is as simple as a loose toner cartridge.

If i have run out of cyan coloured toner, can i print only black somehow? the printer doesn't want to print at all (even on mono colour selection), and keeps asking to replace toner cartridge

There are few printers if any one toner ink is finished it does not print any more. So you must replace the toner or refill it then it will work.

Do i have to have toner for all colors if I just want to print black and white?

It is like he says. My 9420cn uses all the colos even if the machine just prints out received faxes. Its really annoing and costs too much.

So does anyone know a solution how to stop it from using all colors to print black?

NO OPC BELT on MFC-9420cn

The opc sensor is not sensing the belt. Open the front cover and remove all the toner trays. You will see the green OPC and the sensor is located in the left upper corner. Also open the top cover and remove the OPC. Clean the sensor with a soft bristle brush. Also make sure the OPC left side is free of toner deposits. This may incorrectly trigger the OPC position sensor. Hope this helps.

Color cartridge

The Brother machine will not print if the message "Toner Empty X" ( X =C for Cyan, M for Magenta, Y for Yellow and K for Black) is displayed on the LCD. The empty toner(s) must be replaced in order to continue printing. Incoming faxes will be stored in the memory until the toner(s) is replaced.

Replace Toner Message Will Not Clear

Are you sure that it is not asking for one of the colour toners?

Was it a genuine cart?

Did you replace it before machine instructed Replace Toner ie no message or Order Toner/Toner Low was displayed?
