We've had the DVD player for more than a year now. We'
ve had no problems with it before. My brother in law borrowed the DVD player and when he returned the player, it won't play the DVD movies anymore. When we play a DVD/Movice, the screen on the TV is blue however we can hear the audio on the TV.

needs to be connected to the park brake circut....when the wire gets a ground from the parking brake the screen will show picture...the reason is that it is against the law to have videos play in the front seat while the vehicle is in motion.
I strongly doubt it's the lamp assy since you can actually see the blue screen. If the lamp failed, you would not see anything on the screen. This blue screen indicates to me that either the tuner is no longer decoding the signal, in improper input has been selected (ie: input 1 is selected while actual signal is on composite 1), or something of that nature. If you are getting audio then the input is selected properly but the video decoder has failed.
If your cable signal is going through a VCR or DVD, disconnect it from there and go directly to the TV (ie: bypass the VCR/DVD). If your picture comes back, there's some kind of problem with your VCR/DVD player.
If you have multiple inputs, try connecting an input signal to another input (ie: video 1, or aux from a dvd player) and see if you get a picture there. If you do get a picture, the whatever input you're currently using has malfunctioned.
Try the reset on the remote. Press this key twice to restore factory settings. The TV will automatically start Channel Search and clear all customized settings. These features will automatically reset:
? Picture/Sound Adjustments: Color, Tint, Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Color Enhancer, Tone, and Surround Sound
? Channel Memory
? Audio to Stereo
? Caption to OFF
? V-Guide to OFF
? Aspect Ratio to 4:3 (normal)
? Menu Language to English ? Sleep Timer (if previously set)
? Video to TV (if previously set) If desired, personal settings can be made again using the menu options
Check the power supply modular cable connection that is by itself in the upper right corner. On the one my son-in-law has the double yellow jumper wire that connects to this plug in two locations was loose (not properly inserted) in the modular connector and had worked it way out.
