Batteries contacts How can I open the case in order to replace one contact broken?

Same problem with damaged battery contacts. I contacted the Texas place and they were not inspiring my confidence in them. I've started to disassemble my unit. There are a number of security type Torx screws that I've taken out but the case still feels tight so I am proceeding carefully to see what is next.

My unit is the all black Night Quest 160 but looks to be exactly the same as the Mariner model

I've got the case mostly opened, but I can't get the last bit apart by the rear eyepiece. The case is siliconed together, but on the rear eye piece the plastic fits inside the black adjustment ring. I'm afraid to force it apart anymore.

Dear friends,
The best solution in order to avoid to open the case is:
Found the small spring used on the AA batteries charger and
put this spring on the top of the battery that remain low, because the contact broken, and close slowly the contact cover pay attention to the spring position.
I tryied this solution and this works. The problem is when you have to change the exaust battery but it's enough pay attention in order not to loose the "contact spring"

Does not power up at all

I am GLAD to HELP YOU!

If your machine doesn't start at all that means:
1. your Power Supply Unit is damaged so you have to replace it;
2. a contact/wire from the power plug-in might be broken - this case you have to open your laptop case and to check it [it where the Power Unit jack is inserted];
3 [THE WORST OF ALL!] your motherboard is fried...

Check each one apart the order they were mentioned.

Good luck!

Is tv broken or remote?

The batteries may need to be replaced. If the batteries have some power they may partially function but cannot due all the functions that are required to perform. Your batteries may have lost partial contact. Open the case and readjust the batteries in the case.

Brand new Motorola RAZR V3i does nothing

Is the battery installed?
Sometimes electronics are shipped without the battery installed, or with the battery installed, and a thin non-conductive sheet between the battery and the contacts. This presumably prevents corrosion and/or preserves battery life.

If it's really broken, contact the seller and demand a replacement that works.

Battery cover broken

A repair is unlikely without parts, It also depends weather its the part that is actually broken is on the battery cover or the camera itself.
If the camera itself a new case for the camera will be required if the battery cover then a new cover will be needed.

to obtain the spares you have two routes,
a) contact the manufacturer (contact details should be in the manual or on the gtee card)
b) buy a faulty camera from somewhere like ebay and use it for parts

It's unusual for these remotes to break down, but they often suffer from bent contacts in the battery slot.

When the battery is inserted with the tray, if makes contact with a spring terminal on the main board, and a spring terminal at the back of the battery.

First check that the replacement battery is the correct type. If the replacement is too fat, then the board spring has probably been flattened, otherwise the back spring has probably been pushed in.

Either way, its quite easy to fix.

Board Spring: using a thin wire, such as a paperclip or precision screwdriver. gently lift the two contacts from the back until they stay up from the board.

Back spring: using the same tool, hook into the loop on the contact, and gently pull forward.

This will ensure that proper contact is made when the battery is inserted.

Don't worry if you pull the contacts too far, because the battery will push them back.
In this case, remove the battery tray

Unable to charge remote 880 on cradle

Obviously, the easy thing is to make sure a little "wiggle" of the remote doesn't help. The remote should beep when it successfully touches the contacts on the charge cradle. If it doesn't beep, check to make sure the contacts (on both the remote and cradle) are clean and straight. Also, remove the battery from the remote and check that the contacts on the battery (and internal to the remote) are also clean and have decent spring pressure on the battery. If all of these check out fine, it's possible there is a broken or loose connection between the charge contacts on the bottom of the remote and the circuit board inside. In that case, an in-warranty return would be in order. There have been reports of some cradles having contacts that are set deeper into the plastic, making it harder for the remote contacts to touch them.

On mine, the battery terminal on the inside of the battery case is broken, by opening and shutting the cover a few times until it contacts properly it is normally OK. Anyone know where I can buy a new contact plate in theUK?
