MY SONY DVD WRITER DOES NOT READ SOME DVD AND SHOW 0 BYTE PROPERTY AND INSTEAD OF DVD DRIVE IT SHOW CD DRIVE. BUT WHEN I OPEN THOSE DVD ON OTHERS COMPUTER THEY SHOW DATA. ALSO WHEN I OPEN THE SAME DVD IN MY COMPUTER SOMETIMES IT SHOW DATA.

This is a problem with the DVD Writer model.
SONY DVD RW AW-G170a has problems reading DVD+/- R/RW Discs.
But there is no problem with any of the DVD+/- R/RW Dual Layer, DVD Ram or CD+/- R/RW Discs.
It is the reason that this DVD Writer lacks the correct bitsetting for DVD+/- R/RW Discs.
There is nothing else you could do other than replacing the wirter with some other model.
