Why won't my oven ignite? Vulcan model GC04c

I have recently converted vulcan gco4c from natural over to propane gas. I have it all hooked back up and when I power it up, the blower starts up, the digital interface comes on and shows the temperature that I set it to. The valve that I regulator that I replaced(natural to propane) clicks, then there is a box that controls the electric ignition on the back that clicks. Soon afterwords the digital screen shows a Er-05 and just beeps. How do I know if the gas is being sent into the combustion chamber? How do I know if the ingiter is actually sparking? What could be my problem? Does anyone know where to download an operators manual? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Why won't my oven ignite? Vulcan model GC04c

I can get you the error code but dont have my manual at the time.a couple things to you here the clicking sound of the ignitor that ignites the gas?when you installed the regulator are you sure its on right?you should see an arrow on the regulator body and it should be pointing to the oven.also you need 10 inches of water colum (gas pressure)with a propane system where as natural you need less, regardless ill be in touch.

I have a Sears Kenmore Elite 790 hooked up to propane .. is it ok to have it hooked up to propane or is this over for natural gas only?

Kenmore Gas ranges can be used with Natural gas or Lp. They come from the factory set up for Natural gas so if you want to use Lp it needs to be converted by you or your gas company. There are several adjustments that have to be made and some ranges require orifices to be changed. Your installation manual tells how to convert it but if you're not sure about doing it you would be better off the call the gas man.

Pat, it is very important that all appliances that used natural are guaranteed to be LP Gas approved. Fact is natural gas uses about 1/4 oz. psi where Lp Gas uses 8lbs. to 13psi
This is critical that the person doing the work has experience in converting the two types to prevent fire or property damage. I hope I helped answer your question, let me know if this works out for you. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Problem gas cooker

Go on line to westing and look up your model, go to the help page and ask for their assistance, gas is not something to fool around with, I suspect it is the orifice that have not been converted to propane, I had a similar problenm with the stove top burners, and the orifices needed to be changed to (converted ) to run on propane gas. Some times manufactures send the converter orfices but most of the time you have to ask for them if you are running on propane, most stoves are set up for natural gas not propane. Most of the time the store clerks don't ask you if you will be running on propane , you have to tell them and the professional who installs the unit needs to install the orifices. Please be careful! If you installed the stove your self, you need to contact a professional installer to correctly adjust these .

Like an electronic igniter for a gas grill? I believe you can pick up a replacement. Call Lowes or Homedepot. I know i have saw individual igniter's before my friends bought some for my friend and I when we were little to make potato cannons.
