It has worked great. I updated my 2 computers with new motherboards and when I hook it up to one it connects fine but the other it does not. The computer beeps to indicate that it sees the camera and sometimes it says it 'finds' the hardware, and I can see it in the 'remove hardware' window. But the "scanner and camera" recognition wizard can't see it, it doesn't show up in windows explorer, and sometimes everything freezes until I unplug it. I just want to download the pictures I take. I run XP Pro SP3. Don't know what else to say, except I really like this camera.

IF THE LAPTOP IS WORKING FINE WITH EXTERNAL MONITOR THEN THERE SHOULD NOT BE PROB. WITH THE MOTHBOARD. JUS CHANGE THE LCD SCREEN AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE. PLS REPLY OR COMMENT. THANKS

Hi. Asus has a great utility that lets you update your bios even in Windows.

At the download section select your OS and in Utility section find "ASUS Update V7.14.01 Install Program" This program will automatically update your bios.


As for your Ram issue. Did you try each stick in each ram slots ? If you did and saw no issues, then I am only suspescting of incompability between your Rams.

Detection should happen when the cdrom is hooked up correctly. Make sure the cable is on right.
Make sure that the jumpers are correct for the way you have it connected.
Older bioses may not see newer drives. The bios would need to be updated if some equipment hooked on is too new.

Another thing to check... see if the drive will work in another computer.
This will determine if the cdrom dvd is good and working.

i think your computer audio is not in shape to boost a great sound. specially when it is built-in sound in the motherboard of your computer. see your computer / motherboard manual's if the driver's you have AC '97 then you cannot really boost sound.coz it's a generic driver's for sound card. if try also to update your driver's (sound). by seeing the brand and the model of your motherboard or computer and go to manufacturer websites for update. after update if can't help, but you really need to boast a great sound then you can really buy a PCI sound card 6 channels or 24bit 5.1 or 24bit 7.1 f your sound system have are compatible with this. or has an interface like this - audio 5.1 and 7.1.

As you stated the device works in one slot but not the other , tells you there is problem with that usb port , don't use those ports , best thing to do is purchase a PCI USB card if you need more USB ports .

try reseting it. mine works fine.

dl all latest drivers ok on disk for the model that dont work on working computer then take it over install on broke one get it updated shoudl work

when the screen goes away try to wigle the cable from the computer to the monitor see if it could be that
